I'm wearing the "Tree of Life" pendant right now and it is so pretty, but more than that, it means so much that you guys would bestow me with such a thoughtful gift! You guys are the best and it's a true testament to this wonderful network we all love - Active Rain!

"Hi Kristine,  WOW!  What other service/business does something like this?  I am over-the-top touched, not only by their thoughtfulness but, your graciousness and your incredibly kind heart to do what you're about to do.

This really touched me as well because my first career was nursing and our hospital's logo is the Tree of Life.  Everything (documents, scrubs, walls...!) that we had there had the Tree of Life on it!  Now, everytime I see one, it makes me think about the years that I was surrounded by the many professionals and people like you who gave everything that they had to help those in need.  I worked in the operating room and witnessed more cadaver transplants than live ones but, people like you who were ever so generous always had a special place in my heart.  You're giving a part of you that many of us would never do or will never have the opportunity to do.  You are truly an inspiration, Kristine!"

 Niki, I can't thank you guys enough for doing something so special for someone SO incredibly deserving.  Your thoughtfulness goes well beyond any business practitioner I've ever known.  Yes, those would say that this is not like any other business--'we're more of a family,' 'this is a network of friends'...but, it's STILL a business and you've definitely outdone yourselves.  Thank you all for making my day!

All I can say is wow.. Great gesture on the part of AR and Kristine just unbelieveable that you are giving a kidney to another person. I am just blown away with this whole situation...Good luck Kristine with the surgery..

It really is all about Kristine, but this is just another detail that makes Active Rain such an incredible place to be.  I love this community, and I am so blown away by Kristine's gift of life.

This is exactly why I find myself on ActiveRain so much. It's soooo much more than just a blog site. It's family.

When I realize how many people aren't even willing to donate their organs after they die, I respect the ones that donate while they are alive even more!  Off to repost this to give Kristine the kudo's she deserves!
