18 Comments on If It Ain’t Broke, Don’t Fix IT!
And the worst part is they probably received a ton of feedback but some executive somewhere still believes that you the consumer doesn'tknow what their talking about.
After so many cancellations the numbers will get listened to before you.
Enjoy the day
Hi Don, You are so right, they hired a new V.P. and he is the one that came up with all these new ideas. Wish he was paid on commission.
Hi Will, Don is right..unfortunately it just might take lots of cancellations before they change their response and rethink. Being user friendly is just so important in today's marketing world with so many other choices that are out there for us.
We here at AR are lucky to have responsive people who do fix things when they get broke-even if it means we have to return to the older (better) way of doing it.
It is very frustrating to have the "new" complicate something that was so nice.
Yup, sometimes it is better to just leave things along....seems there is always something to change change change, right?
I used to see this all the time as updates were done to programs for the sake of progress. I used to be the marketing guy behind large corporate software solutions. My team would come up with what the customer wanted and engineering would turn that into new features. However, every once in a while they'd try to make a major change (look, feel, etc) and it would make the users stomachs churn. It was always done because the engineers felt it was time to get creative or update to a new technology.
Will, the advanced editing features in this program are cool, but when it takes forever just to load the piece not to mention print it, it is stupid. We will have to look at Top Producer once things slow down a bit. I have always loved Sharper Agent in the past, until now......
They probably paid big dollars for some consultant company to come in and turn the company up side down. Sad.
Hi Cindy, Yes Don is so right on target. Friendly user is so important.
Hi Toni, You are right about AR, Have a great day!
Hi Kristin, They always say change is good, but you have to wonder.
Hi Bryan, It would be fun if the engineering department would have to sell it.
Hey Belinda, You are so right, it just takes to long to do things now.
Hi Richard, This is how some business go out of business. Have a good one.
Good Morning Don. I run into this daily and it is frustrating at least. If it isn't broke STOP fixing it.
Randy you are so right, Keep your fingers off of it!!!!
Will, it is difficult to use programs that go thru updates/upgrades and get up to speed with the new changes, especially is a busy spring season!
Good post, Will. Hopefully, you will find another source that is even better.
Have a most productive month!
I've noticed this trend from simplicity to overly complicated to make it "better." I don't get it.
Will, many people seem to be caught in a trend of improving everything; software is an example. Each year we get an updated version of this and that, and what we just managed to master and enjoy, is suddenly gone and replaced with a new version. We waste time and money trying to learn the basics again. I agree with you - if something works great, leave it alone, or at least give people an option to continue using it.
It’s because good companies don’t want to rest on their laurels. When that happens, they are on their way to becoming the next Lotus 1-2-3, the next WordPerfect, the next Betamax.
Will, This is just another example of why I need a memory card for my brain that you mentioned in your other post! I don't mind learning it once, but I don't like having to relearn -- it takes up valuable (brain) space -- especially if it was fine to begin with!
