This article from Business Week is a well written recap of the circumstances that lead to Bear Stearns multi-billion dollar mishap. The article is titled "Bear Stearns' Bad Bet" by Matthew Goldstein and David Henry. It sort of falls under the "more bad news" category, but I believe being educated is better than being ignorant (I don't think the sky is falling...but I'm realistic enough to see what's happening in the market...it's not sunny everywhere regardless of how upset some folks get when we "share" bad news). I'm sharing this article because it sheds some behind-the-scenes light into a very significant chapter in this market meltdown.
