Lake Norman which is located just 20 minutes north of Charlotte, NC is a popular destination for many people visiting the area. However, in the past few months more and more people have become interested in making Lake Norman their home.
One of the questions I get a lot is " can I get a good deal on a foreclosure or short sale?" The short answer is yes.
The trend for many people is to see if they can "steal" a waterfront home that is a distressed property. I believe that you can get a good buy on the lake regardless of the label.
My previous post had a Market Analysis of Lake Norman waterfront homes that sold in the past year. Remarkably enough the average sold price was roughly at 92% of list price. For example, a million dollar home was being sold for $920,000... $80,000 SAVINGS! That is an average. A few of the homes were sold for over $100,000 less than asking price.
