Best Documentary Explaining the 2008 Housing Crisis Narrated by Matt Damon
Does the average American really know what caused the housing crisis? Apart from greedy people using their homes as ATM machines to buy cars, boats and vacations, what else would the average person say? It would be interesting to go around and interview people in your local communities and see what they would say. I know that you can't help from blaming the individuals who bought homes with zero money down, with no real jobs, stated income loans and poor credit but why was a person like this even capable of financing a house for hundreds of thousands of dollars? It is kind of like the baby with a loaded gun analogy. A loaded gun should never be readily available to a toddler. The home loans that were available to the average citizen were the loaded weapons. One could even argue that they were weapons of mass destruction (financially speaking). We have our freedom in the USA but that allows for others to easily take advantage of us. Now more than ever do we need to be on the alert for self preservation in all aspects of life. I know I'm rambling a bit here but my main point is that you need to watch this documentary if you have not already.
I believe that due to the recent power of Wall Street, the housing market trends may not resemble the trends of the past. The power of investment banking companies & derivatives, our govt., the federal reserve (which isn't federal, has no reserves and isn't a bank), the average citizen may get stuck in a financial cycle where the American Dream continues to elude them. I believe that EVERYONE involved in a real estate related field needs to watch this documentary. If you watch the documentary, you may understand where I am coming from. I was able to rent the documentary for $1 at a local grocery store out of Red Box.
