It's Time For.... San Diego County Fair, Yeah!!!
Summer means, the fair has started! San Diego County Fair, held every year in Del Mar at the Race Track and Fairgrounds, is 75 this year. The Fair started yesterday and runs through July 4th. Every year has a different theme and this year it is "Race to the Fair" honoring the Southern California Car Culture.
The San Diego County Fair always provides terrific entertainment and this year is no different . Tonight Bruno Mars is playing. And don't miss San Diego's own Switchfoot on June 17th. See the entire entertainment schedule below or visit their website at SDFair.com. We love the fact that there are so many different types of musical, animal, car and other acts. Truly something for everyone.
Are there great rides? U Bet! And all kinds of games, including bubble gum blowing (I could have won that when I was a teenager), potato sack championship, garage band contest, pie eating contests, who can do the best animal noise and many more.
Okay, what about food? Deep fried everything you can think up. One of the new items this year is deep fried Kool-Aid and deep fried Girl Scout cookies. Well at least that sounds better than the deep fired butter. Of course there is a lot of "traditional" fair food and if that's not your thing Del Mar and Solana Beach have some great restaurants.
So come on over to Del Mar and have fun at the San Diego County Fair. Be sure to wish the fair a Happy 75th Birthday!
