I am purely disgusted by politics and all participants. the entire system is co corrupt even those going in with good intentions dont stand a chance against the beast of washington and its lobyists and donors and all others twisting everything to their interest. Not that the politicians themselves need much pushing to go to the dark side

Jason, Does not matter conservative, liberal they are all crooks, let me give you three examples:

had no money before joined politics: Richard M Nixon became millionair when he left in discgrace....

had no money before joined politics: William J Clinton became millionair before he left office ....

had no money before joined politics: Barak Obama  bacame millionair and is still in office.....

Jason, That's the challenge, I think we're all a mix of perspectives.  No one party OR person can truly represent everything we hope for except ourselves, and I have no time nor millions to run for Congress :)

Your choice of words exacerbates ans illustrates the problem.

"There is a constant argument going on these days:"

"Argument" is used property, but it has many meanings.

To a debater it's the orderly presentation of his point of view.

But, we've allowed hate to replace logic.

To the masses "Argument" a loud shouting match!

Four the last 12 years hate shouted at top volume has replaced debate.

Jason, I am seeing these EXTREME liberal or conservative people wanting to win their point over the other side more than wanting the good for the country. You know, the red and blue state thing again. Very wild electronic music in Times Square with Tom Cruise. Maybe someday he will make a decent movie again. He is stretching with what he selects lately and it is not working.

And what it all comes down to...is that no ones really got it figured out just yet

Strange days indeed.... I find it is best to work hard and to the best I can to make the world a better place.  There is a lot of beauty too...  Politics is certainly ugly...  Even still, there are a lot of people working hard, trying... just a lot of red tape and hypocrisy... Always a silver lining somewhere though...

It's always darkest before the dawn. Leaders in the Mideast and north Africa have learned to be concerned. Could happen here too. The best run government would be by a benevolent dictator, but they are hard to come by.

Endre - I can't speak for Nixon as he's a bit before my time, however I will point out that Slick Willie and Obama's have garnered a lot of wealth from books (and I believe the former gets them for appearances). It is politics that made the books desirable, but I don't believe that's directly from crooked politics.

why are we forced to be either one.  get rid of the distinctions and let the people vote the issues not the party.  at this point thewre can't be anyone for anyside that believes that everything their party does is right.  Id love to see the whole system abolished, along with the IRS.  Me thinks, you and I would get along grreat!
