It's Official! "Reading in The Rain" is a New Group.

We have had great response to our first post asking about interest in an Active Rain Book Club. A name was voted on and we are ready to go!

There are a couple members who will get us going with our first couple book selections and then we will open it up for each member to suggest a book and host the discussion.

Here are the guidelines:

1) One book a month will be read by the group.

2) The member suggesting the book will take the lead on posting the discussion for the group that month.

3) Any books are allowed but no vulgar, political or sensitive subject matters please.

4) We will be respectful of each others book choice and attempt to read it even if it isn't our favorite subject. That's what a Book Club is all about, stretching ourselves to read things we may not normally read.

5) We will be respectful of each others thoughts and comments about the book. This is a discussion, not a right or wrong.

6) We will have fun, laugh, and hoot and holler.

7) The person who picks the book does not have to have read the book first. In fact it is encouraged that you haven't. Pick a book that you have been wanting to read, this is the best time.

8) The person who picks the book will host the 'post and discussion' that month and will be responsible for the virtual treats, snacks and beverages. They may be centered around the subject of the book or just a recipe you have been wanting to try. :-)

REPEAT #6: HAVE FUN, LAUGH, HOOT AND HOLLER!!
