Every town has  property where maintenance is delayed more than the Chamber of Commerce or neighbors would want. Detroit seems to have enough beautiful relics to make a book, Ruins of Detroit. In the wine country we don't have a lot of dramatic fixers, but we try to make up for it with nature's help. This fence post is in the last stages before collapse, but it does support a wonderful crop of lichen.

Dave - being from Detroit, their plight is extra-sad.  My sister had fwded me an e-mail about 2 yrs ago titled, "Bagdhad or Detroit?" and it had sobering photos of both towns.  The worst part is, Detroit isn't a warring faction; it's just abandoned....
