My Back to Basics Approach for Blogging on Active Rain

A friend of mine commented that I have been busy blogging of late.   I explained to him that he has only seen a snapshot of what I am doing.  Besides Active Rain, I am currently working on two Designations.  He just didn't understand how I find time to do it all.  I have decided that  share part of my process, which I will call

My Back to Basics Approach for Blogging on Active Rain: It consists of three steps

1. Know and utilize the maximum Active Rain Blogging points system

2. Establish a time of the Day when you are going to blog

3.  Use the proper software to make your processes more efficient

4.  Keeping track of your progress

Know and utilize the maximum Active Rain Blogging points system

The Points Breakdown Structure of Active Rain is as Follow:

a. Maximum of 10 post per week for 2250 points

b. Maximum of 10 reblogs per week for 250 points

c. Maximum of 250 points per day for a total of 1750 per week

d. Total of 100 points per daily logon and a total of 700 points

Additionally points are being given out for doing challenges (participate when convenient)

The grand total of 4950 points per week

Establish a time of the Day when you are going to blog

I have established 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm as the ideal time for me to blog.  This is because in the past I would be watching television.  Needless, I have not watched much TV these days.  My time is spent reading the blogs of others and writing my own.

Use the proper software to make your processes more efficient.

I use the following: Paint, Notepad, ScribeFire, Instapaper.com; SimpleNote Apps, Feedly, and Google Reader. These softwares allow me to find articles, save them write my blog and then post to Active Rain.

Keeping track of your progress

I keep a log of how many posts I have made each day.  The goal is to do at least one per day.  I have a notepad that I use to keep trackof this.

This iis as simple as I could get it, hence, My Back to Basics Approach for Blogging on Active Rain.

I tried to comment recently on someone's blog but couldn't find an original blog in all the pages I searched.  This person only reblogs others work.  Interesting concept for a blog......

Gita --- I rarely re-blog, too....but from time to time, we do see some blogs we either need to bookmark for our own use, or to share with others whom we think may benefit from it.

Lorraine --- Have run into a few folks who may be too shy or challengd to write their own blogs, but who think enough of others' blogs to re-blog. At some point in time, they will surely do their own.

Good choice for a reblog, Pacita. I really need to start using Google Reader to make my online time a lot more efficient.
