~ Looking For a Paperclip ~
How often do we find paperclips lying around everywhere; in our car seats, on the car floor mats, all over our house, at the bottom of our purses, in pockets of clothing, everywhere. Right? I am always picking them up. If I only had a nickle for every one I picked up in my lifetime, I would be rich. (Okay, maybe not rich, but at least more money in the retirement account than I have now.) I wouldn't be able to even begin to guess how many paperclips could be found at the dump. Billions, I suppose.
So today, I am on my way to drop off an offer (yes, that is correct, hand deliver an offer) and I realized I had loose papers. Not to worry, I thought, there is always one somewhere in my car. So, I continued to drive to where I needed to go. Once I arrived, I started my search for the always present paperclip. Do you think I could find one? Nope! Not in my purse. Not in any pocket. Not on the car floor, or car seat. No where to be found. I looked in the trunk, the glove compartment, center console. I even got out of my car and scoured the parking lot looking for that elusive paperclip.
Can you believe I was actually looking on the ground for a silly paperclip? I am just glad that no one stopped to ask me if I needed any help looking for whatever I was so diligently looking for. How embarrassing would that have been?
Well, I gave up my search and went into the office and asked the receptionist for a paperclip. I left the paperclipped group of papers with the receptionist for the other agent and went on my merry way. Not only did I spend valuable time looking for a silly paperclip, but now I am writing about it! Who would have ever thought?!
