Creativity Makes the Difference

By
Home Stager with Artful Lodgings

Not many Stagings are million dollar homes. Many properties are smaller with a tight budget for preparing for sale. This presents a challenge for the creative Stager.  With a little ingenuity, an awareness of materials and a willingness to think out of the box, any Staging can have a “WOW” factor. A slatted bench minus its legs, a section of picket fence or a group of slender branches can become a headboard; an uplight wrapped with rice paper can become a stunning floor lamp; unmatched books can all be covered in the same textured paper – even with brown paper bags – to good effect.

With just a glass top, anything sturdy can be a table base – a found tree stump, a heavy planter, a Japanese hibachi or a pair of sawhorses. Polished beach stones or small shells can make a decorative base for candles or a natural centerpiece for a summer table.  A jar, wrapped with small twigs can be a seasonal vase. Accessories like these can be found in the most posh furniture emporiums costing far more. The possibilities for the creative Stager are out there for the looking. And all of this is green! Re-used, recycled, repurposed.
