Welcome Home Rockland Boulders!! - Opening Night At Provident Bank Park

baseball

Tonight was opening night for the Rockland Boulders new home in Provident Bank Park in Pomona.  Though not the first ball game of the season for them, it was the first to be played in their new home.

Provident Bank Park officially opened today in a ribbon cutting ceremony followed by a game and fireworks.  The Ball Park is the new home of  the "Rockland Boulders", an independent profession baseball team that's part of the Can-Am league, and was designed and built to meet and exceed the requirements for a Minor League facility's standards.

The Ball Park can seat 4500 and at this first game of the season, there was a sellout crowd.
Among the park's many amenities are extra wide comfortable seats in the seating bowl, with an extra 3 inches of height separating each of the rows making it easier to see over the heads of those seated in front of you.  There's also a wide 360 degree concourse around the field filled with features for all ages including a food court and a kids play area (BoulderBerg kids zone).

If you're planning a group outing to the ballpark, there's a traditional outdoor party deck or a group picnic area to hang out in and for corporate entertaining, there are suites and loge boxes varying in size that can accommodate both large and small groups in comfort and style.  Each of the suites is equipped with several flat screen high definition televisions so guests won't miss any part of the game while partying.  The sound systems and acoustics are all state of the art.

There is parking for 1200 cars and additional parking nearby for overflow with shuttle buses to the park. The ballpark is located off exit 12 of the Palisades Parkway and is filled with family fun entertainment amenities.

Be sure to to check out all the great new features when you visit the new Provident Bank Park...to watch the Rockland Boulders in action.  You'll get to watch professional  baseball without paying professional prices.  Tickets are available for as low as $8.00 so you get a chance to enjoy America’s pastime without breaking the bank and best of all, it's all practically right in your backyard!!

Toni, thanks for liking my facebook page and yes, this does look like it'll be a popular venue, both this summer and thereafter.  There was alot of neighborhood objection to the ballpark - mostly because of the cost to the taxpayers.  It went up very very very quickly despite opposition.  I'm hoping it winds up being lucrative so that the tax burden on the locals isn't.

Tim = prices "starting"at $8.00.  And, yes everything begins to add up.  Baseball is big business!  But, no matter the cost, itws alot less than traveling into the city and going to a major league game.

Cal - It definitely is nice having one local, though I'm not so usre how intimate a 5000 seat stadium is.
