Crossville TN - Flag Retirement Ceremony

Reblogger Pam Dunn
Real Estate Agent with RE/MAX Premier Choice

It is a shame most people do not know there is a proper way to dispose of old flags. I have given mine to my father to dipose of at the American Legion. They hold a ceremony quarterly.

Today June 14, 2011 was Flag Day and there was a Flag Retirement Ceremony set in Fairfield Glade at The First National Bank on Peavine Road. Folks were encouraged to bring their torn, tattered and faded flags to the ceremony were they would be retired of properly in a ritual that treats our flag with respect and honor.

The Crab Orchard Chapter Daughters of the American Revoluntion sponsored the ceremony today for Flag Day. Celebrating 'Old Glory' ~

"I pledge allegiance

to the flag of the

United States of America, and to the

republic for which it stands, one nation

under God, indivisible, with liberty and

justice for all."
