Hello, I Am An ActiveRain Ambassador and I am Here To Help You !

ActiveRain Ambassador

That may sound strikingly familiar , but no I am not from the government, we know how that worked out.  I am a member of the ActiveRain Ambassadors and if you are newer in the Rain and there are things you need help with, the Ambassador members really can help you get a fast start.

If you haven't become a Rainmaker as yet, you definitely do need to speak with an Ambassador as we will help you understand the true value in gaining Rainmaker Status.

ActiveRain like anything else takes a while to work through all the many nuances, what all the tools do and how to use them most efficiently. Being a REALTOR® with a hobby in photography, I add lots of photos to my posts ( I call myself a PhotoBlogger ) and the photos need to be uploaded, titled, sized and placed properly to show off the post to it's best advantage.

You may wonder how all this was accomplished by the earlier members before the Ambassador program was brought into being. Well, it a way, the Ambassador program existed from day one. There are members that just knew how use the site from it's inception and they helped the rest of us figure it all out. We called that " Paying It Forward". I don't know if we coined that phase or not but this is how most of us learned early on.

The staff in the Rain with the help of some of the techno talent of the members put together tutorials on how things needed to be done. Members with advanced understanding made many of their own tutorials as well. And guess what, none of these are lost, in fact the Ambassadors are at this time, sending into the ActiveRain headquarters, all the tutorials we have available in the network to create a library of reference materials.

One of the outstanding members, Brad Andershon, actually ended up working at headquarters as Community Manager and he created tutorials from A to Z on many of the How To's needed to optimize the whole blogging experience. Naturally when that kind of talent surfaces, it is not unusual for that person to be recognized in the larger industry and while he is still a very active Ambassador member, his main job is now working with Zillow.

The point is, most anything that needs to be done or known here in the Rain likely has tutorials and they can be made available soon in an easy place to locate them, the new Tutorial Library. In the mean time, you may have needs today or tomorrow and want help. So the Ambassadors are here to help you. If we don't know how to help you with a particular need, we can call on other Ambassadors with that particular knowledge. You can also get enrolled in the Free classes sponsored by our ActiveRain University. Use this link to get the schedule of classes and sign up. I have attended many of these classes and they are wonderful.

Please understand that those of us who have ambassador status here in the Rain do not receive compensation from ActiveRain. We are not part of the staff, we are members just like you. We do this because we love the network and it is a way for us to give back for all the help we received and still receive from our many friends and readers here in the Rain. We call this  our " Paying It Forward" just like the early member founders did back when. One day when you feel you have successfully embraced the many features available with the network or if you have a particular skill set that can help others here in the Rain, you may also want to pursue the Ambassador Status for yourself and there will be something more on that in due time coming out from ActiveRain headquarters.

Here is an ActiveRain staff post with all the links for getting started. It is titled " How to Get Started On ActiveRain". There are many great links contained in the post even for those that just need a refresher or specific links to many of the How to's , the ActiveRain University schedule, etc.

The Ambassadors of ActiveRain welcome you and encourage you to let us know how we can help you attain your goals to maximize your online presence and to gain the personal stature as a top notch Blogger.

William! This is beautifully written my friend! This one should stay on the dashboard. I'm proud to share the Ambassador status with you and the others and I am willing to help anyone that needs it. Between us all I'll just bet we could answer most ALL of their questions. You are da bomb.

I have actually been here for awhile but I had lost the email with the getting started and AR universtiy links. I will have to go look at them now! Hopefully there is one that explains all of the icons under peoples pictures because I am not sure what most of those mean. Thanks!

Great post, William!

@Craig - good idea, Ambassadors should be visible.

I am an Ambassador - I love helping people get started or improve their blog and AR profile.

Anyone can call me or email me anytime - I will look at your profile and blog and give you some direction.  Sometimes a little one on one is so helpful.

No matter what area you are from, call me - Ambassadors are not restricted to any geographical area.

We're not receiving compensation from the gods? And I have been looking for that check every day in the mailbox. Great writeup William and also background on the ambassadors and all here to help. What did they say there were like 105 of them? The elite corp of helpers  : )

William, Margaret said there were only 125 Ambassadors. Wow, it seems like there are more of you, but maybe it's just because you're my favorite bloggers and I'm always hanging around your blogs :)

William - I'm always happy when people call for help.  So many people helped me that, and I'm glad to do what I can.  I didn't realize there were so many ambassadors these days.

I didn't know anything about Ambassadors when I first got on AR. This probably explains why it ook me so long to start blogging. Maybe there should be some sort of Welcome package that comes with signing up. I list of links and people, some tutorials and explanations of how things work. Stuff like that.

William, I haven't been around that long but I have learned a TON from you and the other Ambassadors.  But I have also learned a lot from others who don't have the title but still feel the need to pay it forward.  This is a great community and we are proud to be a part of it.

Gotta love your "but no I am not from the government" line.  I'm laughing, because increasingly I am solicited to buy burial insurance from questionable entities that want my name, birthdate, social security number, etc. . .They always say "they aren't from the government". . .LOL  But somehow William, I think you are different:-)

Thank you for the education.

I am a newbie. Just started a few days ago. I am now #4 in my zip code (92118).

Sales staff at AR told me it is $69 per month. Wow. It is kinda stiff. Do they have promo going on sometimes? Or it is just my wishful thinking.

Thank you for your time!

William, I should also add that there are some members who are NOT Ambassadors but always post valuable information and help other members.

I read a post sometimes ago on requirements of Ambassador - but may be, a good idea if one of the Ambassadors re-write the post so most of us can get on how to become an Ambassador.

William, thanks for the explanation. I didn't know specifically that's what the Ambassador title meant, but I know I've received help from members who aren't Ambassadors.

William - Great post in regards to what we fellow Ambassadors can do.  I think to a certain extent the title has lost some of its value as a lot of folks and not doing it as much or perhaps have moved on.  It is great to bring it back to the forefront.
