Today, on Thankful Thursday, I am thankful for my climbing roses that came into bloom today! My sunporch is going to be a beautifully fragrant place to have evening cocktails tonite - who wants to join us?

(last year's photo but I'll update it later! It looks much nicer this year! But the cocktails are just as good!!)

UPDATE: here is 2011 - different coloured flowers this year!

I love the lazy overhead fan just moving the air enough to get the scent of the roses - mmmmmm Can you see the church steeple? And below is the slate water feature that just glows with the light under the copper header. I love the sound of running water!

What a neat sunporch Susan! Even your critters love it! It seems flowers were a little later blooming this year. The fences on the sides of my house, are loaded with Star Jasmine, currently in bloom. The temperatures have been wonderful enough that I am leaving my slider open with just the screen door closed when I'm home. The perfume in the house is glorious.

Hi Judi - I just love the look of roses on brick and we thought we'd lost these ones due to the harsh winter they endured. We alternate where we spend our time: the porch is great early in the morning as it faces South but we make our way to the back yard early afternoon and then back to the porch for some cool shade later. I like thinking about it being a new addition to the home in 1906 !
