I made a comment once to Leslie Rojohn that my activity with ActiveRain was like participating in a professional "dream city". She suggested that the concept would make a great post and as usual, I think she's right.
The ActiveRain community is made up of citizens of a perfect professional dream city.
All of the real estate agents I've traded comments with have a clear vision of agency and a strong moral compass with regards to their clients and fellow agents. There is no real estate issue that can pop up that can't be reasoned out by sharing with this group.
The home stagers give valuable insights into home presentation that most listing agents have never even thought about. For those of us who live in areas where there are no professional home stagers, sharing those insights with our sellers makes us look brilliant.
The home inspectors are always helpful to give tips on simple things that sellers can do so "stupid things" won't show up in inspection reports. Great ideas to avoid potential problems BEFORE they become issues.
The lenders make sense of the confusing world of home financing. A little understanding helps everyone. Agents aren't loan officers, but knowing some basics helps buyers gain confidence before filling out their loan applications with the professionals.
In short, we all learn so much from each other and our respective roles on ActiveRain that not only does the knowledge make us better real estate professionals, but the interaction helps elevate the entire profession.
So...the only problem with my idea of the dream city? The competition would be fierce!
Enjoy this society and the meeting of the minds, use it to your own advantage and that of your clients.
How about a little Dinah Washington?
