A Professional "Dream City"

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with MoonDancer Realty, Dillsboro,NC NC# 218097

I made a comment once to Leslie Rojohn that my activity with ActiveRain was like participating in a professional "dream city".  She suggested that the concept would make a great post and as usual, I think she's right.

The ActiveRain community is made up of citizens of a perfect professional dream city

All of the real estate agents I've traded comments with have a clear vision of agency and a strong moral compass with regards to their clients and fellow agents. There is no real estate issue that can pop up that can't be reasoned out by sharing with this group.

The home stagers give valuable insights into home presentation that most listing agents have never even thought about. For those of us who live in areas where there are no professional home stagers, sharing those insights with our sellers makes us look brilliant.

The home inspectors are always helpful to give tips on simple things that sellers can do so "stupid things" won't show up in inspection reports.  Great ideas to avoid potential problems BEFORE they become issues.

The lenders make sense of the confusing world of home financing.  A little understanding helps everyone.  Agents aren't loan officers, but knowing some basics helps buyers gain confidence before filling out their loan applications with the professionals.

In short, we all learn so much from each other and our respective roles on ActiveRain that not only does the knowledge make us better real estate professionals, but the interaction helps elevate the entire profession.

So...the only problem with my idea of the dream city? The competition would be fierce!

Enjoy this society and the meeting of the minds, use it to your own advantage and that of your clients.

How about a little Dinah Washington?

Hello Mona,

I tell you this. I have been, and am on a lot of "FORUM" type sites. This site is the only one that gives you the respect as a professional. If you need help, there are a lot of members out there that are willing to lend a hand. They don't have to help, "They want to help".

It seems no matter how "trivial" the problem or how "serious" the issue, members step up and help get the answers we need.

Thanks for the recognition to Active Rain and It's members for Caring and sharing.

Mona,

What a great analogy!  ActiveRain is a great community made up of people who help one another.  In most circumstances, this truly would be nothing but a dream.  But for those of us here it's a reality!

Hi Andrea, I'll bet no one else in Sylva can lay claim to a Bananatude feature! Thanks and good to hear from you.

Hello Clint, This is such a true comment. Members go above and beyond simple comments in writing, I've had phone calls too. It's a great community.

Hello Will, How did your speech go? Did you bring cookies? Wish I'd posted this earlier, you would have been welcome to this concept.

Hi Anna, Sienna the office manager is the hit of the community. She is so funny, when we come to the office she always has to stop and visit her "peeps" on the way. Always networking!!!

Hello Cyndi, I hope you and Bill had a good vacation. I missed your regular posts.  This community is even more special knowing that "real" members live less than an hour away!

Good morning Sheila, consider Sienna's head patted. She is too cute and knows it.

Thanks... I'm sure she is well spoiled.... I have often thought of getting an office cat but opted for fish instead.. we try to now work on the weekends so had to have something that is more self sufficient than a cat or dog.

Hi Sheila, If you got an office cat you could call it "MAX" and the cat could watch the fish for you.  Check out today's post, Sienna helped manage a fire!

Hello Sharon, it is an incredibly caring community. I really found that out with all of the touching responses to my Dad's tribute.
