One more time...a family vacation. It is so wonderful to travel as a family. Such bonding. Memories are built for a lifetime of enjoyment and conversation. Since our children were babies we always had family vacations. We have camped in every state in the 48 states and much of Canada with our children. Now we have plans to make it as a familoy to Hawaii.

The day finally arrived and our little family (children and grandson) joined us for a long waited family excersion to

Maui Hawaii.  Pictures below: Cal, Wynne;  Daughter, Jayme and son in law, Gordon; Son Jacob. and baby Koen centered with his parents.

Family OutingPurpose was to unwind from a hectic year and get relaxed and ready for the hustle bustle of busy holiday season.

The star of the show Koen little "koen" was ready to have some real fun...Let's go.

We stayed here  Maui Hawaii Kanapauli resort, Maui Hawaii.

and played here almost everyday...Resort But there was more ....

We went to Lahina Town and saw the biggest banyon tree in Hawaii and one of the largest banyon trees in the world - over a city block in size

Banyon Tree in HawaiiImagine, this is only the main trunk....the little trunks are almost as large.

The trip was all that we expected and more...would you like a link posted to the visual tour of our trip? There's lot's more pictures of little me Koen's first plane ride... whadda say?

Boy am I jealous.  I don't even dare to show these photos to my wife.  She has been bugging me to go to Hawaii for ages.  Sounds like a great Thanksgiving.  You have a beautiful family.

Hi Wynne- I moved back to MI after living in Lahaina Maui for 3 years. I was a science and math teacher up the hill in Lahaina below the big "L" on the side of the hill. (Stands for Lahainaluna High School). I lived about 2 blocks from the banyon tree and watched the sun set every night from the harbor there.... Man, I miss that place! Michigan is my home, however.... planning a trip back this winter...... I know Kaanapali very well too, as I lived in Kahana for awhile. Also lived in Kihei (south).... Many, many great times there! Did you get to Hana? Haleakala crater?

Aloha Wynne, Maui is like the garden of Eden, don't you think?  So diverse, I've been so fortunate to live on Maui for 24 yrs.  Don't ever plan on leaving.  Some of my favorite fun here is going to the jungle, I don't do it enough anymore.  Most visitors come here for the beaches, but the wetter side of the island is so spectacular too!  Hope you are able to make it back w/ your family soon!  KarenMy kids hanging out at some pools in Kipihulu

Karen, Next time we come, I will get in touch with you. I am sure that you know some gret places we haven't found yet. We did the road to Hanna in 2004 and went the full circle. This time the boys went and could only get to the bridge. it was out so they came back same way they went. Went to Crater 2004. This trip I pushed the stroller and played with Koen. it was purely to relax - let the kids have fun.

Absolutely!  Next time you make it out, We'll take you to some nice jungle pools, there's nothing like it.  Wish I spent as much time hiking out there as I used to, I guess we all get busy huh?  Have a great day!  Karen
