As I look around on my journey through Seattle, I discover fun and interesting things to share. When I was taking these photos, I had to ponder how one would define this space should they call it home. How would you describe it?

Hi Judi - How fun is that? He certainly does define the structure...  the question is, just what is he saying about it?!?   ;-)

When I first saw those pictures, I thought they were taken in New York City.  They have quite a number of buildings there that have similar sculptured faces and gargoyles.  I've often wondered the significance of putting these faces or sculptures on buildings. . .Perhaps to ward off evil spirits from the building???

Definition of gargoyles are actually waterspouts to catch the rain as it flows off the roof. This water is piped into the mouths of the gargoyles & is emptied into the street instead of dripping down the sides of the building & damaging it.   Thanks for the post, I learned a new word from Myrl.

Judi,

I would define it as a building with character and historical.  The outer facade indicates that the interiors are also interesting and full of architectural details.  There is a whimsical quality to all this.  Have a great weekend. A

Judi, Looks like he bit into something at experienced an unexpected flavor. Or maybe it was ice cream and he got a momentary brain freeze. I need to be more observant of building exteriors.

Was that building built by pirates back in the 19th century? I don't think I would want to live there, but it would be a nice place to visit if it were, say, a museum.
