Lazy summer days in Cecil County, Md......

Summer is here, (ok well not officially) and the weather is perfect to get out there and enjoy the sights that Cecil COunty has to offer. Personally, I am one to hunt down FREE things to do, all while enjoying what Cecil County, Md. has given us naturally.

Here are a few of my favorite spots in Cecil County, for summertime......

Charlestown Manor Beach: Charlestown, Cecil County, Md. This small, tucked away beach offers a great place to spread out your beach blanket, rent a few huge tire tubes, and relax. The water is calm, shallow, and relatively clean. There are restroom facilities, a picnic grove,  and a fabulous snack shack.

 Location: 7 Edgewater Avenue Northeast, Md.

Elk Neck State Park: Elkton, Cecil County, Md. Elk Neck has a little bit of everything. Camping, hiking, beach, playground, something for everyone. The campground is well kept and clean, the beach is perfect for a great day adventure, with a beautiful view, and the hike to the lighthouse, although long for small children, has a great payoff in the end. Elk Neck also offers panoramic views of the Susquehanna River, and is a graet place to enjoy much of Cecil COunty, Maryland's natural beauty.

Conowingo Dam, Conowingo, Cecil County, Md.: The Conowingo Dam offers a spectacular view of Bald Eagles and their nests. After crossing the Dam on Rt. 1 North, make your 1st right onto 222, and shortly thereafter is a parking area, and a walking trail which ends offering great views of the dam. Enjoy many species of birds, and take your fishing pole, a picnic lunch, and your camera.
