- La Jolla Festival of the Arts, LaJollaArtFestival.org 6/18 and 6/19, 9AM to 5PM, $10 admission, Children under 10 are free, Parking is free Come enjoy the works of over 200 artists at the 25th annual La Jolla Festival of the Arts. Besides the beautiful art there will be lots of Music and Entertainment (including our own Dave Scott Jazz Band and Rockola), Classic Car Show, Celebrity Authors and Book Signings, Interactive Kid's Zone, an amazing Restaurant Row featuring Fine Wines and Craft Beers, fabulous Chef Bernard Guilles from La Jolla's iconic Marine Room will create a special meal based on the art work, yum! All proceeds from the La Jolla Festival of the Arts will benefit San Diegans with Disabilities. You will have a great time in gorgeous La Jolla and give to a very worthwhile charity.
- La Jolla Open Aire Market, Every Sunday 9AM to 1PM, La Jolla Elementary School, Girard and Genter, Free Certified Farmer's Market that dates back to 1996. Fantastic fruits, vegetables, prepared foods and pastries, art work, jewelry, clothing, music and entertainment. A great way to spend a leisurely Sunday morning is to stroll around the La Jolla Open Aire Market!
- 5th Annual Survivor Beach, LongBoardLuau.org On the Beach near Scripps Pier, Sunday 6/19, 8AM to 10AM, Free This event was created to show support for those who are battling cancer and to benefit cancer research. Bring your surfboard because participants will try to break last year's record of laying their surfboards nose to tail as a symbol of support for cancer survivors and those battling the devastating disease. Last year there were almost 200 boards, from Scripps Pier to La Jolla Shores. In addition there will be Survivor Speeches and a performance by Healii's Polynesian Revue. I am a cancer survivor (Melanoma) and know how important these events are.
- Sound ON, Anthenaeum Music and Arts Library, LJAnthenaeum.org 1008 Wall Street, Saturday 6/18, $20 for non-members, 10AM to 10PM, Actually this is the third day of Sound On, festival of modern music. Enjoy performances by virtuoso clarinettist Robert Zelickman, NOISE with Mauricio Meza, Rei Munakata and Thomas DeLio and the Chamber Concert Finale with Nathan Brock, Thomas DeLio and Mauricio Meza.
- La Jolla Comedy Store, 916 Pearl Street, 6/18 Jackson Perdue, shows at 8PM and 10:30PM. Sunday, 6/19 will be New Talent Night at 7PM
