Just finished reading Surviving Your Serengeti by Stefan Swanepoel. Finished it in one sitting because it got my curiosity.

I had taken the 'what animal are you? test' before I read the book and results tagged me an Enterprising Crocodile. Also shared my thoughts about this.

However, by reading the book I was able to identify that I am more than a 'croc' which still appears to be my basic skill set. As I read the chapters, each animal brought to mind a personal life experience where I had to use a particular skill to get through the adversity. Perseverance, recognizing opportunity, doing the right thing, setting a strategy, communicating, streamlining a process, and taking huge risks to make necessary changes... Reading this book has reconnected me to my personal confidence and trust in myself - a priceless gift knowing it is good to be human.

If you haven't yet done so, I do recommend reading this book.

Roseanne, back months ago, Bob Stewart suggested this. We had a contest, too. I, like you, took the test before getting the book (I live out in the middle of nowhere and had it shipped), but read it in hours.

I am an elephant, like the teacher in the book. As my granny used to say:

I was quietly proud.

I have totally embraced my elephant status!!! I actually have written a few posts on this very thing, too. And EVEN drew a self-portrait because I couldn't get ahold of my friend in Mexico whom I knew had elephant photos, but he came through for me before I submitted the piece.

If you want to read any of those, just e-mail me. I am honoring the concept of not putting links into our comments.

PS.. you're not that far from me!
