25 Comments on Speechless Sundays- Why God Made Grandfathers!
Hello Kathy - these pictures tell the perfect story of the true meaning of being a grand father - this is beautiful! Sadly the grand fathers are all gone in our family now and we miss them dearly; however, we have two young men that will be great in this role when the time comes.
Your collage sums up the day we set aside to celebrate. Enjoy the day!
God did a good thing when he made Grandfather's BARFF............such a sweet collage of photos. My Dad was an amazing Grandfather............in some ways I think he and Mickey would have been happiest if their kids never grew up and left the nest. They were both the happiest around children. Thanks for the memories.
Kathy - I know my dad has made such a positive impact on all his grandchildren including my son teaching them all how to fish, crab and tool around the bay in his wooden skiff he built himself! All the grand kids love him!
Good morning Kathy,
Those are such sweet pictures. Granddads are very important. These pictures just tell a whole story of love.
The pictures are, as usual, but the display is terrific! Love what you do with your pictures.
Michael- good morning and hope your day is restful and rejuvenating!
Andrea- to all the men who are fathers in any way!
Sheila- I actually was very lucky! This is my husband with our 2 grandsons... teaching them to fish.
Gita- they are little pistols. I think they mostly liked taking their shoes off at the lake.
Barbara- hoping to teach them to fish and play some ball.
Barbara H- same as in my family. My grandfather loved his garden and his cigars. My husband can now teach his grandsons what he loves to do.
Wayne- thank you and hope your day is everything you want it to be.
BARFF- I would love to have been around for your family dinners... good food and everyone talking at the same time.... I love it.
Kristine- it's kind of like life giving our hard working dads another chance to play with their kids!
Cindy- it's what I think of when I think of my grandfather... teaching us the fun things in life.
Mimi- many thanks! I love playing around with the photo editors!
Great collage. I knew one of my grandfather's for four or five years. The other died when I was a baby.
Kathy - Didn't know either one of my grandfathers; one died before I was born and the other one when I was a baby. But I am missing my Papa Jack very much today. I hope you and your hubby have a good day with the grandkids.
Kathy, how wonderful to see your hubby with your grandchildren. Hope he's having a great Father's Day.
Chris- I only knew one of mine but did have him for 14 of my years.
Donna- I am sorry that you did not get to know either of your grandfathers....it's a shame but those of us who have been lucky enough to know at least 1 almost take it for granted that everyone has had the same experience.
Janice- He's doing exactly what he wants to do.... which is at it should be.
Kathy
A picture is worth a thousand words thanks for sharing them.
Good luck and success.
Lou Ludwig
Kathy,
That collage is a keeper! What a thoughtful post with great ideas too!
Patricia
Lou- hope you had a Great Father's Day!
Patricia- I love the collages you can make with Picnik or Picasa.
Kathy ~ Sadly, I never had an opportunity to feel a grandfather's love, but was lucky enough to feel loved by both of my parents. I relish being a grandma and doing all the G'ma things one would do with a grand-daughter... it's a special title I wear with pride!
My dad's father died when my dad was only six years old. My mom's dad died when I was two and I have no memories of him. I have pictures and some vague memories of my great grandfather who died when I was five or so. I was blessed with two grandmothers who lived long enough to see all my children and that was wonderful, but there has always been a void where the love of a grandpa should have been.
I love your collage....beautiful!
Adorable pictures, I like how you shared i as a scrapbook page -- looks like it was a fun day! Have a great summer!
Melinda- you were lucky to have the love of both parents, and a good part of what makes you a great Grandmother comes from that.
Sharon- even though I only knew my maternal grandparents it was what I knew... although it would have been fun to have another set of grandparents. I had so many aunts, uncles and cousins that I never was at a loss for having family around.
Jason & Amber- Thank you for your kind words. Hope you have a great summer as well!
Hi Dee Dee- thanks and hope you have a great week as well!
