....is the San Diego Zoo, but only if you're an elephant!

Elephants in the wild might walk several miles a day looking for food, and their feet have been built to do that walking. When the elephants have all their food provided for them, like in a zoo, they don't have to walk as much to get to it:

Just because they don't do a lot of walking in a zoo doesn't mean that their hooves and nails simply quit growing. If they don't get their weekly pedicure, their hooves can be damaged, making it extremely painful to walk.

How do you get an elephant to stand still for a pedicure? As with all animals, especially real estate agents, they can be trained to do what you want them to do by using....

FOOD!

What amazing photos! I have never seen the detail of the bottom of an elephant's foot like that before. And, I learned a neat fact I can share.  Thanks for the post!!!

Thanks to those who have stopped by and left a comment.

I didn’t stay long enough to see if they painted the toenails, but even if they did, I can’t imagine it staying on very long when they are putting thousands of pounds of pressure on their feet and walking around all day long with no shoes on.
