The last few nights I had been hearing a frog down near the pool...  Usually I hear then in the distance near the creek, but this time it was a bit closer...  I didn't even think about it during the day.

So I was adding water to my pool as my son and I were swimming today and when I pulled the cover off the surface filter drain thingie...  There this cute thing was.

So what did I do?  Yup, I did what any boy would do, and picked it up.  I showed my son, and he held it, and I explained to him what an amphibian was, and that frogs started life as tadpoles.

Frog

I waited till it cooled off and got a bit dark and I let him out down by the creek.  He was kinda stuck, as there really was no way for him to get back out of the pool the way he got in.

And yes, he did pee on me.

:)  Chris

Virginia - Thanks!  It is kinda dry around my house, so I was afraid he would not live very long there!

Whatever you do, don't kiss it.  Don't they have a toxic substance on their skin or is that toads!

Chris - I can promise you I have kissed a lot of frogs in my life, and not a single one turned out to be a prince.  I guess I was looking for the right one in all the wrong places. . .LOL

Chris, many cultures believe that frog will bring you good luck. I hope it is true.

A very handsome guy and I'm so glad you used it as a teaching opportunity for your son. Those moments are so important.

You certainly have some interesting experiences in your neck of the woods.  I'm guessing you decided against kissing it..?
