If in doubt, check it out! 
My partner isn't a reader...she scans the first line and last line but misses the bulk of what is important. So she relies on me to scope out any emails or snail mail that is in question.....you know "read the fine print".
Today was no exception when she received an email as she was doing the company's online bill paying that read "your payment wasn't received and please go to the link below to find out more details". The email was from NACHA - The Electronic Payments Association. I quickly told her not to click anything and let me check it out.
There is such a company by that name but there's absolutely no reason she would have received an email from them with me having been cc'd....(and by the way, I never received the email that I was cc'd on).
So I did as I usually do...I turned to my trusty computer and GOOGLED THEM! With all we do now on the computer it takes only a few minutes to check out a person, place or thing via the internet. If in doubt, check them out!
Dig a little deeper than surface level and you will find the answer! It will save you much headache if you check first before a "worm or two" invade your computer. 
(and BTW- the email was fraudulent as I expected).
