The Experiment - QR Codes

I must say that while I have QR codes on my radar; they aren't really part of my marketing plan...yet.  I am about to embark on an experiment though...  I have created this post card and I am planning to hand them out at a local festival in my niche market this weekend.  I am anxious to see if anyone scans it ...guess I better go figure out a way to track that...lol

QR code experiment

I'd be curious if any of you have had success or if you do it just because it is available and your sellers like it (on listing signage, listing flyers, etc).

Cindy, I haven't had any success yet using QR codes in my marketing...but I haven't really used them for that long now, so I'm giving it some time before I make a judgment call. Of course, I've also never put together a marketing piece like the one you're sharing! :)

I've been using them and have had a little success (meaning consumers have scanned them), but no business directly from the QR Codes that I can clearly identify yet.

Cindy, first, I like your postcard, I like the message it is spreading.  I am also trying to do a little experiment on one of my listings now, I have created a QR code and plan to put it on the for sale sign in front of the house.  It will go back to my RE/MAX leadstreet, so I know how many people actually scanning it.  Honestly, I don't know how many people know about QR code in my market, I will see what happens.

Cindy, this is a great idea.  QR codes ARE catching on quickly.  Mostly with that generation that is so into technology.  I'd call it the "X" "Y" or "Z" generation but anymore I don't know which is which!

I have thought about having something to hand out when I'm out taking pictures for my latest localism blog so that people will know where to find the information and, of course, their picture!!

Cindy, I am always in for trying new things.  our industry as well as the rest of the world changes so fast.  If we aren't willing to change and try new things, we get passed up quickly.... Keep us posted on your results.  Kudos to you for tring the new technology!
