35 Comments on It's Poll Time Again! What's More Gratifying for you? Working With 1st Time Home Buyers? Or Working With "Seasoned" Buyers?
Hummmppphhh! I'm going to just sit here and pout like the spoiled child I am as you did not have a box to check that said; check here for blue house sellers! Can sellers be next? I wanna play. :(
Craig, although I really wanted to know why you keep taking these polls...my choice would be first time home buyers. I find too often that a buyer who's experienced more than one closing becomes too much of an expert.
Michael - Sadly, that's a question all too many agents are dying to know these days!
Wanda - So nice to hear that you love what you do Wanda. Too many people just work to retire. Retiring is not even in my thought process.
Sharon - I vote for the 1st time home buyer too Sharon. I love them both, and I don't take either for granted. But it just seems that 1st timers really need you more than repeat buyers. And it's very gratifying to feel needed.
Laura - I know. I know. I need to create a poll for stagers, home inspectors, lenders, veterinarians, French fry chefs, Wal*Mart greeters.... just so everyone can play!
Nick - I know you were kidding, but to answer your question anyway... I do it because it generates response. And, this being a social media forum, what better way to engage the reader by asking a question that requires an answer?
Craig - interesting... first time home buyers like to undervalue..a t least seasoned buyers know what to expect..
That is awesome. You are the MASTER of creative. BTW- First time buyers all the way.
Dang smarty pants!
☂ Great question Craig, and I love the Lucy pic. But to answer your question; I love 'em all!! Whether 1st time home buyer or seasoned buyer/seller as long as they are nice people. Won't work with grumps!
Enjoy your day and stay cool on this 1st day of summer!
Pamela
Gay - You make a good point Gay. But 1st time buyers do listen to the voice of reason (us!) since they've never been through this before.
Ellie - Your vote has been tallied Ellie!
Laura - That's me!
Pamela - We all love them all! But I do agree, nice people are much better to work with. Thanks for the Lucy pic kudos. That one was originally posted here....
Don't You Just Love the Look On A Buyer's Face When....
Like you say, there are things about both that are gratifying, but the edge goes to the first timers for me.
James - Ditto my friend!
Craig ~ Well it's a toss up ~ First Time Buyers are so gleefully happy and seasoned buyers pretty much know what they want ~ Either way is fine with us ~ We love them both equally ~ Are we still friends? It's only a dream....
Karen - Ha! Ha! Ha! Yes! We're still friends! For those of you who don't know what Karen is referring to you can check out her blog and my comment on it....
Dreams and Desires ~ Rock Stars and Sunset Beach ~
Craig, What do you mean? Buyers? Buyers? Someone has buyers? They seem to be rare birds in my neck of the woods.
Donna - I hear you. It's been a rough season for some. Fortunately my area is still doing pretty well.
I kind of like seasoned buyers...they keep me on my toes. They ask intelligent questions and bring different experiences to the table. Not that I don't enjoy the excitement and educating of first time buyers, they just don't pose the same intellectual challenge. But the truth is I love them all!
Holly - I hear you Holly. Seasoned buyers do keep you on your toes. In either case, , like you, I love them both for the different things they bring to the table.
Craigster ~ How sweet of you to put a link to my blog and rock star Jon ~ Happy to remain friends forever ~
We would have had a blast at Amy's & Marian's get together but some of us work for a living (smiles) ~ wrote our third contract of the month that weekend with a $5000 bonus attached... Life is good!!
Karen - Rock on Karen! Gotta love it when you're making money. It makes this job sooo much more fun. And no need for the link thank you's. I'm always happy to link back to my friends.... no matter what kind of music theylisten to!!!
By the way, check this out....
From Bon Jovi's Hands to Mine! Thank you Craig Rutman!
We've been blessed to have a bulder that has used Ken in developments for both... two very different animals, right?! Gotta give the vote hands-down to the first-time buyers. They are not afraid to show their child-like excitement and joy of getting their first home! But the seasoned ones have to be part of the equation too, right?! They just don't giggle as much.. :)
Leslye - Love the "child-like excitement and joy" of first time buyers! And, no, the seasoned buyers might not giggle as much, but they definitely are part of the equation!
