Holy Measurements, Bat Man -- now what's a fella to do? Hope they'll take them back?!? Just doesn't seem right to have so many "custom" measurements . . .
I always measure twice...
Bill
I guess the lesson learned is that we should never leave anything to chance, and be sure before we buy!
What do you do. I thought they were standard too, but never gone so far as replacing them.
Bill, interesting. I also thought that standard doors on homes were 8' adn 16'
Tish, the most used door from what I know was 8' and 16' Now I am finding out that I was wrong.
Joshua...I didn't measure wrong...I didn't even measure. I ASSUMED the doors on the other garage were 8' because when I talked to a supplier last year when I was replacing a door for a friend, they talked 8, 10, 12, ect.
Richard...I am finding that most single doors are 9' and double doors are 16' I didn't mearsure the doors on the other shed. The builder did what I asked hm and the door installer brought what was ordered. He told me that he puts in a lot of 9' doors.
Chuck, I am stuck with my 8' doors. I should have gone 10' because of the large shed I had plenty of room. But I am going to be measuring a lot of doors to see what is really being put up.
This issue is totally on my head. Hopefull others will learn from my mistake.
Bill, Like you said you have a large door so you can work with it. I can tell your frustration with yourself.
