Rain Camp: Day two, Scene One! Holy-Information-Overload-Batman!

AAAuuugh! My head is going to explode!

Too.  Much.  In-for-may-shun...

Another beautiful day in Seattle, sun, sea, breeze, man; am I one lucky bug!

I get to walk from my Hotel to the conference center, I took the scenic route (read a wrong turn) adding an extra 10 minutes to the original 20,  but  still made it before Seaside Sally! :D

Today we are on the main floor, sunshine streaming in and a huge screen allowing us to see all the visual aids the presenters are offering. Great set up, but maybe a bit  bright! many people wearing shades (lucky I brought my visor) until the sun shifted.

Bob started the day out talking about how to get on the front page of google (and stay there), and while he was speaking I kept getting flashbacks of listening to Rain Radio!

Google Wonder Wheel was discussed as a great tool for finding key words for posts. And once you find that/those keyword/phrase, to use it numerous times throughout said post. (gotta work on that). And use variations of said keyword/phrase in said post... whew!

My friend Nick T Pappas was used as an example with how words could be used (and tweaked) to move a post up the ranks.

I had an aha moment when Bob said to always embed video or maps at the very bottom of a post, because spiders can get confused with embed code and might not 'see' all your keywords then...who'da thunk!

So much stuff! More coffee! I think my brain is liquifying and leaking out my ears...

Next we had Rich 'the Crab Master' Jacobs, tell us about "Social Media Won't Help if You Suck". I can see that...

He talked about some great books we should read: The Go Giver - The Purple Cow - The Thank-you Economy - and Ninja Selling. (I really want that one, because I can say; I'm a Ninja that knows kungfu!)

He went on to talk about the 3 P's we need to incorporate into our biz: perspective, personality, passion and always be genuine and honest.
Obviously there was much much...much more, but;

Must eat, need lunch... scene 2 to follow a short intermission...

Lori, you are so much fun, it really was like summer camp! Just no campfire or singing... I'm gonna blog about my hotel, we need to figure that one out! I got your back anytime! :D

BLiz, that's the problem, how do you get to it all!?! Aauugh! This has been my first adventure into blogging and it has been suggested to be on all the social networks, so now I have just got onto Face Book! What next!?!

Sharon, I would have loved to have seen you here, but I understand how going to them all is not an option for most people. You have to work sometime!

Russel, where there's a will, there's not only a relative, but a way! :D This trip is costing me a lot of money when it's all said and done, but worth it just for the experience!

Cyndi, I'm very thankful I got to attend!

Chris! It was so much fun. So much info, so much friendship, so much love! Everyone is so great, whether they were in Seattle or not! That's the one thing that was said over and over in conversations in the off time; what a wonderful community we have! Amen!

SSS, did you get any on ya? I have some Canadian napkins! LOL!

BB, it would have been more of a hoot, had you been there! Wooooo! :D

Oh, Peg so well written and I do feel like I understand the gist of what you learned.  You wrote it perfectly, I felt like I was there in spirit and the photos were great (glad you're in one to show off that "snappy" visor along with hobnobbing with NikMan).

Damn, I woulda had a BLAST. Probably wouldn't have gotten much sleep, tho.

Thx for this, girlfriend--now INCORPORATE!

Peg:

Very funny post.  Sounds like RainCamp was valuable.  Just by your post, you have answered a questions I had about placement of videos.  Now I know why they should be at the bottom of the post.  Thanks for sharing.

Evelyn, I'm only giving you a second of the hours of incredible information I received these past two days. It is stunning the amount of info you get. I would have to take another week off to implement 1/4 of day one. You said it; very valuable! Love your profile pic; you have that whole power of suggestion thing goin'! :D

John, when we first got there in the morning there were rays shining right on the big screen and I thought 'uh oh', but soon the sun began it's ramble 'round the room and was hidden in no time! People had their shades on, we all looked pretty cool! Yowza! :D
