I've read a lot of posts and comments recently discussing 'credibility'! Now credibility doesn't mean 'seeing' before 'believing'---credibility carries with it an element of 'faith'! If something's credible it's believable. The 'wind' is credible, believable, and real yet unexplainable.

To the left is the picture of a playing field game---it is not real, it is just a picture!

We are in the Real Estate Business. Not the 'Virtual' Estate Business. What we survey, list, sell, inspect, appraise, stage, mortgage, close on, and insure really and actually exists. You can feel it, touch it, stand on it, grow things on it, even destroy it, yet it still remains. It is 'REAL'---hence the term 'Real Estate'.

To the right is the 'picture' of a cool glass of Ale---The real stuff tastes much better and is more refreshing!

Now I am not a philosopher, thank God! All I'm trying to say is that what we 'say' or 'hear' or 'see' on the internet, yes even in our own posts is 'Virtual'. It relates to what is real, but in and of itself it is only virtual.

To the left is the picture of some genuine Cuban Cohiba Brand cigars. I'm not a smoker, but I understand they are highly sought after---don't photocopy this post and try to smoke them!

Who knows maybe some day in the not too distant future 'Virtual Real Estate' may be offered for sale---if there's a buyer for it, someone will attempt to sell it! Land, perhaps, on some distant planet or the Moon.

To the right is a plot plan, maybe of a proposed development---you are not looking at the real estate itself only a 'proposed layout'---you can't live on or in the 'plot plan'.

For the time being let's all of us vow to distinguish between what it is we're in the business to market and what is being said on the internet about it!

AR, Zillow, Google, Yahoo, My Space, even Fran's Blog, may all be wonderful tools and places to find excellent information about real estate---but It's Not Real Estate!!!

The Internet is just a place to advertise our services.  End of story.  Well, almost the end.  On ActiveRain, I can advertise my services and have some fun too.

Charles,

None of my 'heavy' posts seem to attract the grace of many commenters! Thanks,   Fran

iiTHINK IT IS A GROWING PROBLEM, ESPECIALLY AMONGST OUR YOUTH . NOT HAVIN THE ABILITY TO DIFFERENTIATE BETWEEN VIRTUAL AND REAL. THE INTERNET IS GREAT BUT YOU NEED TO GET OUT AND SEE REAL PEOPLE TOO.

Hugh,

I observe the same thing. I try to get my kids to spend as much time outside as possible. They're too attached to man made things like computer games, video games, etc. and not exposed enough to God's creation!!! Thanks,   Fran
