Saturday, July 2 “Kids Tri at Whitmore Pool
The kid’s triathlon is hosted by the Mammoth Lakes Swim Team and will take place on Saturday, July 2nd, at Whitmore Pool. Registration is from 8-9 am at Whitmore pool. $20.00 includes USAT annual membership. $15.00 for members. After the race its free swim day at Whitmore Pool. Monday, July 4 “Fire Safety Fun Festival”     
Come and learn how to be fire safe and have fun doing so with Smokey Bear. The Festival starts after the parade until 3:00 p.m. at the USFS Fire Station on Sawmill Cutoff Rd and Main Street next to Shady Rest Campground. Activities include games, face painting, balloons and Smokey Bear.  Admission is free.

Monday, July 4  “Grumpy's 4TH of July Bash & Hot Dog Eating Contest”
The 4th of July Bash starts before the parade at 10:00 am with a DJ playing music in the parking lot - Free. There will also be a food tent selling BBQ Pork sandwiches, Hot dogs and beverages. Proceeds benefit the MMHS Football team program. When the Parade ends, the competition begins "Grumpy's Hot Dog Eating Contest". Sign up now to be a contestant by contacting Red or Scott.  The DJ will continue playing music and there will be games as well. Monday, July 4 "Mammoth Lakes Police Department Open House"
The Mammoth Lakes Police Department invites everyone to its Open House on July 4 at the conclusion of the Independence Day parade.  Starting at about 12:00 p.m. and ending at 2:00 p.m. there will be informational booths and tours of the police facility. This is a great chance to interact with officers, learn about support services like CERT, and get behind the wheel of a fully equipped four-wheel drive Ford Expedition patrol car.  Darren the DARE lion will be on hand for photos, as will be the color guard and horse units.

Monday, July 4 “Fireworks at Crowley Lake”
The Town of Mammoth Lakes will be hosting the annual Fireworks Show at Crowley Lake.
Fireworks are set to go off at approximately 9:15 p.m., weather permitting.  Music coordinated with the show will be broadcast over KMMT/106.5.  Prior to the show Hot Chicks of Mammoth Lakes will be serving tasty BBQ dinners plus Mammoth Brewery beer.  Crowley Lake Fish Camp store will be open until 7:00 pm selling soda, ice cream and snack items and will also be providing free entertainment from 5:00 – 8:30 p.m., featuring “Milo & Chris” and “The Akoustik2. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, family and friends and enjoy the festive family oriented entertainment. Admission to the 4th of July fireworks Show is $25.00 per car, RV or truck, and $5.00 per individual/bike (walking or biking).
Crowley Lake Fish Camp will have open camping at the South Landing from Friday, July1- Tuesday, July 5, 2011.  The fee is $100 per vehicle for 4 nights of camping and the firework show. The North landing/North shore of Crowley Lake will be closed beginning 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 29, through 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 5, 2011.
