Wolf Trap Children’s Theatre-in-the-Woods, Vienna, Virginia
If you have never taken your children (or grand-children or neighbor's children) to see a performance at Wolf Trap's Children's Theatre-in-the-Woods, you are missing out on one of the best children's activities in the Washington D.C. Metropolitan Area!
Located just off of Route 7 (Leesburg Pike) in Vienna, Virginia, the Children's Theatre-in-the-Woods offers performances from late June until early August. These shows, intended for elementary-aged children, run Tuesday thru Saturday with two performances daily at 10 am and 11:15 am.
The Theatre-in-the-Woods is a special outdoor venue set down the hill, behind the Filene Center, not surprisingly, in the woods. There are a wide variety of performances each season, featuring music, dance, storytelling, puppetry, and theater.
All performances require tickets, so if you see something that just can't be missed, it is recommended that you buy tickets ahead of time either at www.Tickets.com, by calling 1(877)WOLFTRAP, or at the Filene Center Box Office. Pre-purchased tickets may be picked up at the footbridge leading to the Children's Theatre-in-the-Woods. Day of show tickets may also be purchased at the footbridge with exact change, check, or credit card, but performances are often sold out well in advance. Tickets are $8 and tickets are required for everyone ages 3 and up. This year the $8 admission will allow you to see both the 10 and 11:15 performances.
This 2011 Summer schedule can be seen at Children's Theatre-in-the-Woods, 2011.

Holly...this is a great review. I had a college friend who grew up in Vienna & she worked every summer at Wolftrap. I went to visit her once & got to attend a great concert there at Wolftrap - what a beautiful spot! It was MANY MANY years ago but I remember it clearly.
