Realtors & Loan Officers Need to be Appreciated

I first off want to sincerley thank Michelle Wesson of Keller Williamsfor a successful purchase closing this week. This was just one of those transactions that had many obstacles to over come, but through team work and perseverance we were able to help this family find a very nice home for their growing family. Michelle went above and beyond her traditional role numerous times to make certain her client was happy.

As most of us know sometimes a loan can be very challenging and require a lot more paperwork from the client than you had hoped for. These are the types of transactions that can wear on a clients patience because they require document after document to make it to the finish line.

Here is a list of some the obstacles we over came

  • High debt to income ratio
  • The co-borrower had co-signed on another mortgage for someone, no big deal but the property was out of the US
  • Numerous Spanish documents that we had to have professionally translated into English as a result of the co-signing
  • The sellers were going through a divorce, and the P&S was delayed being signed by one of the sellers 2 weeks
  • The sellers had agreed to do some work on the property and that became a huge rock fight to get done

This is just a small sampling of the challenges that not only us but many people in our field have to work through on a daily basis. Michellewas so amazing and communicated with me and the buyers all the way through the process.

Many people don't realize the hard work that loan officers and real estate agents have to do. People figure Realtors open doors and loan officers take people's money. The fact of the matter is that we have to sometimes jump through hoops with a smile and pull strings for people long after we have run out of yarn. We all take pride in our work and pride in our clients. I know I probably won't get a lot of referrals from this client because I look like the bad guy asking for so much documentation, but what's important is I went the extra step. I called Puerto Rico on my cell phone, I went to the gentleman's place of employment 3 times to help him understand the paperwork. What's important is we went the extra step like all of us on Activerain do.

Appreciate and value your Realtors and loan officers. We don't always understand all the work that goes on behind the scenes. The phone calls on the weekends, the late nights in the office. We are responsible for a person's most valued possession and their home and we take this responsibility very seriously.

Thank you again Michelle for your hard work and patience.

Nice post John.  Well said and you are correct that there are many transactions that take a lot of work that the buyers and sellers never hear about.  As it should be, that's why they hired us.

John ~ sometimes it may feel like a thankless task but the end result - a family has a new home - makes being a Realtor & Loan Officer all worth while. Secondly it is really nice of you to compliment the Realtor. I know you both did a great job, your clients have a new home! ;-)
