27 Comments on So much Technology -- It Gives you Popcorn Brain!
Hi Joan. I heard this on the news the other day. I though "what the heck is popcorn brain". I think mine must be carmel corn cuz things get kind of stuck and messy in my mind at times.
Joan, I know I spend tooooo much time on the computer... just this morning my husband was complaining about it.... So, I am going to try to steer away from my office more often.
I would be lost without my electronics! We rely on them so much these days and, as commissioned workers, it would be foolish not to respond in a timely fashion.
Our electronic gadgetry has become a lifeline in the social world. Yes they have benefits, but I do believe using them in moderation (hard to do) will keep the "popcorn brain" syndrome at bay.
Wow only 2 hours..that is my activerain time every day plus all the other stuff--I guess I am the Extra Butter Movie Popcorn
Popcorn brain, Joan? Uh-oh...if that's the case, I think mine is already caramel-covered. :)
Hi Joan,
I am not surprised but it is upsetting. We spend way too much time on the computer and on the phone. Now GPS? Et tu? We are in trouble.
Lisa
Joan, 97% of my files are paperless, I have to stay on the computer. However, I do agree limiting your time to social media, a lot of people are addicted to social media.
The big question is, if they have so much time being a social media junkie, what were they doing with their time before the social media boom?
Jeanne & Ralph, they do take a dim view of a life! There are many days out in the field, and there needs to be a day or more for catch up on the computer --- way too many hours behind the screen!
Larry & Sheila, we do spend too much time around our electronics, but that is what is needed!
Anita, who knows what long term affects all these electronics will have on us! This may be worse on the young folks, as they are STARTING their lives with electronics!
Ginny, there are days I have sat at my computer as well, especially when there are several days linked together in the field with clients! Everything is on the computer now, and requires many hours to keep it going, to include marketing of our properties!
Silvia, I too use a headset or the speaker phone, as they have eluded to brain disease shortly after the cell phone came out. Letters, what are they?
I am NOT surprised!! After I started getting bloggers butt I am forcing myself to do 5 minutes of yoga every hour and to help with circulation. Some days are so rough in front of the computer (with non-marketing activities too!) that I sometimes forget bathroom breaks and that is NOT good for you either!
Hi Joan - Is two hours a day even possible? And very funny, Renee-#21--bloggers butt! That is reason enough to put in only 2 hours a day.
Richard, completely true, we are all addicted to our techo toys!
Will, Belinda & I would not know what to do if we did not have our electronics!
Belinda, carmel corn is good too!
Rebecca, we do need to out more often, and get some fresh air!
Craig, of course I was embellishing! As Realtors we have to answer our phones, and do our Internet marketing!
Dee, some days moderation is very tough to achieve!
Tim, 2 hours is just a good start in today's marketing!
Leilani, carmel covered is a popular choice!
Lisa, over the last decade, many reports have been done on the use of electronics, and our young folks will most likely find out the long term affects.
Tagrid, they used to go outside!
Renee, there are days we just need to catch up with our computer work, and takes a whole day! Bloggers butt --- along with popcorn brain...hmmmm!
Peggy, wonder if anyone would recognize the bloggers butt?
Does riding my bike get all those electronic waves out of my brain? Good thing I don't spend as much time as others in front of that computer!
