Home Stager with THE ORIGINAL HOUSTON HOME STAGING

One of our recent clients provided us with solutions to problems that plague all home stagers:

Bedroom furniture......

Bedrooms are by far, the most labor intensive, time consuming, and costly rooms for us to stage.   We've always kept a few bedrooms in our inventory, but when faced with the costs of staging a decent bedroom, most of our clients have opted to spend their staging budget elsewhere.

I've never been a fan of air mattresses, and loathed delivering a Queen sized pillow top mattress and box spring across hardwood floors (potential scraping), down narrow, freshly painted hallways (potential scraping again), and then finally struggling with the bedskirting to get everything all even.   We've now gone to a new program: three box springs!!!   This gives us the height that we need for a luxurious master bed, and can easily be handled by one person.   However, there remained the issue of bulky headboards.   My thanks to Janet Jones for her recent post about sef-made headboards! That post reminded me of this great resource for headboard decals:

I've not yet used these decals, but I've seen them in our client's home, and they look great!    Also, it's a great way of adding a little humor to our stagings.   I can easily imagine doing an entire bedroom (probably a guest room) in decaled furniture!

Another great decorating idea were these brushed aluminum tile squares:

Apparently they can be cut with scissors, and come with their own adhesive backings!  These are available through Amazon.com, and although this link takes us to an 'out-of-stock' page, just click on the 'Handy Tiles' section under the title and you'll find what's available.  Again, I haven't used these (yet), but I've seen them in action, and can vouch for their authentic appearance.

Just a couple of good ideas that have come our way!

Hi Tom--first, thank you for the call out.  Second, there are so many fabulous headboard ideas out there.  Third, I love your multiple box springs idea--so much easier than lugging mattresses.
