18 Comments on New California State Law Requires Carbon Monoxide Alarms In All Homes by July 1, 2011
Thank you Bob and Leilani for this very informative and timely post. I'm going to re-blog to help get the word out.
Really I did not know this. Or I forgot and here we are with just one more helpful law.
Thanks for making it so convenient to purchase these new detectors. The deadline for the changes came pretty quick.
Carbon monoxide alarms....
Never leave home (with your car on) without one.
Our area has propane heating, fireplaces and cooking. I have our HVAC service firm change the batteries semi-annually in the smoke alarms and CO detectors
Excellent consumer information that could save a life. With the deadline looming, sure hope folks have picked up and installed theirs.
Leilani, this is very important, as many have lost their lives due to carbon monoxide. We had this law adopted a couple of years ago!
Leilani--Thanks. This is one of the best laws after smoke detectors. I hope that PA follows CA lead and passes similar law soon.
Congratulations on first check from AR referral and good luck on earning many more!
Thank you for the re-blog, Jeffrey! I appreciate you doing what you can to get the word out. :)

Tim, now that you know about this new law, I'd recommend telling every landlord you know to make sure they comply with their rental units. :)
Leilani
You're welcome, Tom! I noticed yesterday on the Home Depot website, they were already sold out of the 6-pack online...but they had them available in-store. :)
Leilani
Jim, if I'm not mistaken, this new law also applies to your state of Oregon? :)
Leilani
That's a great idea to have your HVAC service firm take care of those things in the properties you manage, Wallace! :)
Leilani
Anita, I agree...these alarms are cheap insurance for valuable lives. :)
Leilani
That's great for Colorado residents, Joan! :)
Leilani
Mary, even though this may not be a law in your state, it doesn't mean that you can't install CO alarm(s) in your home. That would even be a nice inclusion in a housewarming gift basket for buyers! :)
Leilani
Good idea, Leilani, to include as welcome gift.
PS I like all the personal comments you make on your posts.
Mary, at least that shows that you really care about the safety of your clients. :)
Thanks for coming back to read my reply...I like that you remember to do that!
