Canadian Business magazine has listed Abbotsford as the best place to do business in British Columbia, and the 14th best in Canada. The high-profile Canadian Business magazine compliments Abbotsford in the areas of cost of living, building permit growth (residential and commercial) and unemployment rate. The magazine says that the number of building permits in Abbotsford has jumped 16 per cent from the first half of 2006, while the unemployment rate dropped by the same amount. The Canadian Business article says Abbotsford is a “viable – and popular – West Coast alternative.” It also speaks favorably of Abbotsford’s geography, and the fact it has the sixth-busiest airport in the country.
