House Hunting Adventures--Is That a Turtle?

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Charlemagne International Properties BRE# 01147470

My client paused and leaned against the fence, "There's a turtle in the yard.  Wow, there's another one."  I came closer and quite camouflaged in the distance was a Desert Turtle making its way across the lawn on its way to meet a  fellow turtle yard-mate. You never know what you will see when showing houses.

I missed the warning sign, but I think the surprise was lovely.    However, I must admit it did not shock me nearly as much as the time I opened the kitchen door to find a pot-bellied pig enjoying a nap and blocking the entrance.

Before we left the property we discovered a baby turtle napping in the sunshine.  We locked up and moved on to the next property on the show list.  I must admit the other properties were vacant and we did not encounter any pets or people.  The properties were lovely but none quite so memorable as the one with the back yard crawling with turtles!

Definitely not just another day at the office--and I like that!

Were the "pet" turtles or just roaming in the yard?

How adorable is that? We don't often (never?) see turtles in our area.  Thank you for sharing!

Norma, you might want to check the fine print in the MLS listing write-up to see if the turtles convey.  LOL.

Love those pictures.  I'd love to see a whole day full of them... especially when those two turtles you mentioned finally met up.  Surely a "turtle moment."

My husband and I were on a walk when we lived in Sierra Madre... I saw a (large) pig in a front yard. I jumped back and said

( some things)  and then the homeowners head popped up from behind the hedge.  We just kept on walking.  Awkward!  Kathy
