Arizona Grand Resort’s Oasis Water Park

San Diego is a common summer vacation spot for us Zonies, but if you can’t make the trip to Cali this year, there is an excellent destination spot, close to home, where your family can check in locally and still feel like you’re getting away.

Arizona Grand Water ParkThe Arizona Grand Resort is an AAA Four Diamond resort nestled at the bottom of South Mountain Park in Phoenix and has one of the nation’s largest resort water parks. It offers guests a 7-acre water park with 3 waterslides (eight-story high), giant wave pool and cool lazy river. Parents can sit by the pool, eat, drink and soak in the sun while your kids enjoy the fun-filled water park. It’s a win-win situation and during the weekends, it gets even better!

Every Friday and Saturday night at the Oasis Water Park, during the summertime, they run their Island Nights campaign, which starts at 5:00 p.m.  Island Nights offers families a festive themed dinner buffet at the Oasis ($15 for adults and $9 for kids 12 and under) poolside entertainment (including games, music and dancing) and a “Dive-In” kid friendly movie at the wave pool starting at 8:00 p.m.

Summer rates for the Arizona Grand Resort (through Sept. 5th) start at $139 per night. You can purchase the Summer Splash package, which starts at $169 per night and includes a $50 nightly resort credit, which is good for food (except at Rustler’s Rooste), golf and the spa. Right now, you can find some online specials for a weekend stay for about $159 per night. None of these rates include your nightly resort fee ($8.50 per person/night) and taxes.

Each room you book will receive a wristband for every guest (up to 4 guests) that allows you entry into the Oasis Water Park. You must pay extra for additional wristbands, which costs $30 for an adult and $15 for a child. You are only allowed to purchase 2 additional wristbands for a total of 6 wristbands per room.

A family of four can book a Resort Suite King Bed and stay comfortably. Parents can sleep on the king bed in the bedroom and put the kids on the queen sleeper sofa in the living room. The living room has comfortable seating, a TV, desk and minibar with sink. The bedroom also has a TV and balcony or patio. If your family is a little larger (5 or 6 members), book the Resort Suite with Queen Beds, which will fit you comfortably as well.
