Monday graphicWhew! It has definitely been a Monday all day…from a too-long meeting this morning, to a flat tire with a rusted-on lug nut. I’m hoping the afternoon and evening will go better! So here’s what sounds good on this Monday from…well, you can fill in the blank!

The Florence library is having another eReader party at 5:30 tonight, so if you haven’t had a chance to get to one before, here’s another chance. You do have to register since seating is limited. Call 256-764-6564, etc. 27 to register.

Today is the last day to pre-register and pay fees for the Tennessee Valley Art Association’s summer art camps for kids. Call 256-383-0533 to get more information. The camps offer classes in pastels, painting, mask-making and sculpture, to name a few. They have one age group from 3rd to 5th grades and another for 6th to 8th grades.

South Highland Free Will Baptist Church starts their Vacation Bible School program tonight. It is scheduled every night through Friday from 6-8:30. Classes are available from age 3 to teens. They have buses for transportation, so just give them a call at 256-381-1817 if you need a ride.

Live music tonight will be

  • Jim Seales and Andy Martin will be at Swamper’s from 5-7 pm, followed by Hope Stamps from 8-11 pm. No cover charge for either one. (I couldn’t find a web link for either one of them, so if anyone wants to share one, please post in the comments!) 
  • On the Rocks is scheduled to have live music, but haven’t advertised who will be playing. They don’t have a cover charge either, so its free to go check it out. 
  • You can sing karaoke at Sidelines in Florence(7-10 pm) and at Side Pockets Lounge on Darby Dr. (9 pm) tonight. You even have time to stop in at both places if you want to!
