"Getting", "out of the rain" (in Humboldt County, California)

Two of the many indispensable tools in the real estate business here in Humboldt County, California are windproof golf umbrellas!  The largest ones!  I leave one in the office and always have one available in my vehicle.

The one in the office is used to walk clients to their vehicle during an unexpected down pour.  Even when they are equipped with an umbrella, I find it is a real connivance to them to be able to accompany them to their vehicle and hold my umbrella over them while they enter their vehicle.  And they do not have to try to close up their umbrella.  The same if I see them arrive on a rainy day, I will walk out to retrieve them and save them the struggle of trying to open an umbrella as they exit their vehicle.  I have received several very nice emails from clients for my efforts.

The second one remains in my vehicle and is carried when I am showing property and it looks like rain.  If I forget it, I do not hesitate to retrieve it in the rain.  I do not ask my clients if they want me to, I just go get it!  Again, even if they have an umbrella with them, walking them to their car using mine makes it easy to enter their vehicle.  And the effort makes for a much-improved showing experience.

Good title, some might think you were quitting AR. The fact that you are prepared and aware of how these 'little' things impact clients impression of you and your office, speaks volumes.
