"How do I get more traffic to my Facebook Business Page??"
Ya gotta have a multitude of ways to get people there. Here is a new one (no computer needed): text it!
There is a bunch of stuff you can do from your phone to update Facebook (See this very popular post I wrote) Imagine you met a client/friend/associate for lunch and you're chatting about Facebook Fan pages. Wouldn't it be great to say,
"Hey Bob, do me a favor: take out your phone right now and send a text To: 32665 (that's FBOOK on your keypad) and in the body area type: fan JayTheHomeGuy. Say hello to my newest fan!"
Bam, you're done. He thinks you're such a techie and then asks you to come over and set up his wireless router at home.
Imagine if that became part of your banter with people. Imagine if that instruction was on your business card or on a flyer or your voicemail. Fans are gained ONE AT A TIME.
Now, there are a few **ASTERISKS** that go with this little trick. (I don't know all of them, but try it now and see if it works for you). You have to have MOBILE interaction turned ON via your personal Facebook settings. (If you already get texts from Facebook when you have a new friend request or new message, then you should be ready to go).
Also, rumor is that T-Mobile may not support this feature. Anyone out there able to confirm/deny that? Please comment if you can.
Finally, if your phone opens like a clam-shell with only little phone digits displayed, or you carry your cell phone in a shoulder-bag circa 1984, then it probably won't work. Treat yourself to a new iPhone or Android. Trust me, you'll thank me.
