I received a lovely email the other morning from our own Kathy Passarette, Creative Home Expressions.  I also recently received a call from lovely Jo-Anne Smith,B.Sc., Belleville/Quinte REALTOR® who was kind enough to congratulate me on a feature post.  It is because of these types of people and so many more on this site that have given me more then I can ever return.

This is not a post, however, about my Journey here on ActiveRain.  It is a journey on the impossible, determination and creating your dreams.  And a special thank you to one person who started me in this direction; the direction of being fortunate to do something I love, to have helped people, to have met the BEST of them.  And the blessings that came from her.

It's been quite a week for me and started with a long forgotten submittal by a wonderful free lance reporter, Janene Mascarella, who had once interviewed me for an article on Feng Shui for a local online Long Island publication.  She remembered me and the article (people are reading that site called The Long Island Exchange and had just come across an assignment to write an article for Woman's Day, the Thanksgiving Issue.  She asked if I could write just a few sentences of thanks to someone as if I were speaking to them.  There has long been someone I wanted to thank and have been unable to locate her.  I sent a few lines with my acknowledgement and Janene was going to submit it to Woman's Day.  Along with many others and, of course, it was up to the editor at Woman's Day Magazine to choose which ones to print.

I got a lovely note from Janene that they had, in fact printed it; it's available online to read Woman's Day Magazine - The Greatest Gift of All.  My Journey to finding my passion would not have happened without this person, Deborah Rose from Sedona, Arizona.  It was 1996 and a well thought out and carefull planned trip to Arizona was finally coming up.  I had every day down, with adventures such as hot air ballooning, staying at the top of the Grand Canyon, A spiritual Jeep tour of Sedona and a walk on the Medicine Wheel, Meteror Canyon and even a stay at the Tee Pees.  Having only booked 3 days in Sedona, my time was short.  The tour bus of a private tour did not arrive and I called the company.  Apparently there had been a mix up in schedules and we were not on the list.  And we were leaving the next morning.  I later discovered it was Deborah Rose who answered the phone and she asked if anyone could take us but they couldn't.  "Don't worry" she said, "I'll come and take you."

Deborah Rose Sedona Arizona

To make this somewhat briefer, Deborah did come and she and I "clicked" immediately.  She was wonderful with the kids as well and our 3 hour tour turned into 5 1/2.  Deborah KNEW certain things about me and I realized later she was very intuitive.  On several occasions she asked me if I'd heard of Feng Shui.  I'd never heard of it and kept asking her what it was.  To which each time she replied "Oh, don't worry, you'll find out."  She said I had a "window of opportunity" and looked to the sky....and there was an absolute SQUARE inside the clouds...I had a picture of it but it was during the issues in my home.

When I arrived home after the rest of the trip, I got back to "LIFE" and forgot all about what she'd said but within three months people were talking about it---Feng Shui--and the first licensed, accredited school was offering a full certificate program here on Long Island.  I went to opening house and I positively KNEW it was what I wanted to do.  I had less than two months and a few obstacles:  I certainly didn't have the money and my job wouldn't let me get the time off for the year long study course.  And who was going to stay with the kids?  I borrowed the money from my ex (who had to say:  "Do you REALLY think you are going to make money at that"??)  I didn't know but because I didn't fight him for anything during the divorce, he lent me the money.  My mother paid the other part and I bless her for it, she has always been one to encourage.  I found a new job that WOULD juggle my hours and someone to help care for the children.  And I am exactly where I'm supposed to be.

I could never find Deborah Rose to let her know what she had done for me and what she had inspired.  If you read the link, it is my Thanksgiving to her; from HER gift she gave me mine.  And doesn't even know it.  My wish is for her to find it.  Thanks to both Janene Mascarella and Woman's Day, it's a good possibility.

What a wonderful story, Carole!  Isn't is amazing how people touch our lives without even realizing they have done so?  I hope she sees the article and knows how much of a positive impact she had on your life.  I know that you have had one on mine!

Carole,

There are special angels all around us.  They have no particular shape or color, no particular gender or style.  They come to us at odd times, our meetings often unexpected and uncoordinated.  But, nonetheless, they are angels.  They provide us with objectivity, encouragement, intuition and ambition.

It's apparent that Deborah Fose was one of those angels.  If you locate her tomorrow, or never locate her...the outcome is just as it was supposed to be.

Another great post - as usual.  Thanks for sharing.  :)

Carole.....First I want to congratulate you on 100K points.  But what struck me the most is your thankfulness and gratitude to the person who shared and gave you her gift. You are sharing your gift with all of us as well and I thank you for sharing.

Carole what a wonderful thank you to Deborah Rose.  This is one of those moments when you realize that you never really know how you may have touched people and inspired them on their journey through life.  I truly hope she reads it and you and she reconnect.  Published in a national magazine is all good!  Congratulations on 100 000 points - all I can say is WOW and well deserved!  Betty

Bless you Carole, and bless Deborah Rose ... what a lovely story.  I read the Woman's Day article .... I do like the idea "to embark on your own personal "thank you" campaign by sending unexpected messages of appreciation."

I am going to make some time to think about special people to thank.

I'll start with Thank You Carole,  your blogs are a window for me into Feng Shui, New York and living.

Carole ~ I, too, thank you for mentioning me in your blog.  I read the Woman's Day article and your thank you to Deborah Rose - I hope she sees it.  All too often we are so focused on the negatives in life, that we forget the positives.  People like Deborah Rose, who make an impression in our lives, and don't even realize it.

Carole, there's something magical about that patch of desert. I too met a girl at a seminar in Phoenix when I was living there. I was going through a mixed up time in my life. I know I met her for a reason. She understood that I needed to know that I was right where I was supposed to be. To accept peace with that. I have no idea where she is now...it's like she vanished overnight. I have never forgotten who I am since then.

Bill, Thank you for stopping by and commenting.  AR isn't work to me, it's actually my "down time" and I enjoy it!

Lisa, What a lovely thing to say, thank you!  It is amazing and I hope with exposure that Deborah DOES find this.  I am an absolute believer in SIX DEGREES OF SEPARATION.

Dena, Thank you. This couldn't have come out in a better issue, I am so thankful for what she did for me.  Thanks so much for stopping by and commenting.

Carol, I agree, these "angels" surround us!  Even little things they do that they think nothing of could have a profound impact on us.

Brad, I have no idea if I can get to 200,000 but then I never thought I would get here, either!   But you let me know when YOU reach it!  Thanks for stopping in and commenting.

Joan, You and I are very much on the same wavelength.  I believe so as well and am going to send Janene a copy of this to acknowledge HER for all she's done for me.

Ginger, Thank you for the lovely comment.  I believe in acknowledging people when they have helped you and try to do that as often as I can.  Isn't it wonderful we all have these amazing "Helpful People"?

Betty, I always hope I have done the same, even for just ONE person.  That makes it all worthwhile, to have impacted someone's life so deeply.  I believe through this work I have been able to do that and I do owe it to Deborah.

Julie, I never could figure that out, whether it found me or I found it!  I did a post about it a very long time ago, something to the effect Did you choose your career or did IT choose you.  What I am happy about is that I didn't let many negative people stop me from following my heart.  Thank you for your lovely comment.

Robert, With the issues in my home still I'm hoping my Feng Shui is still good!  There is still so much to be done; slowly but surely......

Jo, And now YOU'RE going to get a call for your amazing Feature (Gee, that sounded like a threat, sorry :)  You know I stopped blogging for a while and may well not have gone back to it if it weren't for you....

Cheryl, Thank you so much for your lovely comment.  I find your blogs absolutely amazing but only wish I understood some better!  I have absolutely no computer knowledge at all (don't tell anyone :)  Thank YOU for all you share!

Kathy, I thank you for the email, I thought that was such a kind gesture!  It's the little things in life that you never forget and that really have meaning.

Karen, Thank you for your lovely comment.  I am grateful for all the good things that have come my way; I think it took me a long time to learn to count my blessings but finally learned some years ago.  And counting your blessings bring MORE blessings!

Lizette, Thank you for sharing your story.  I loved Arizona, every bit of it and started that trip in Phoenix as well.  But I was captivated by Sedona, I honestly felt like I was "home."  That Vortex energy is pretty powerful and there are some magical people all over Arizona.

Lysa, It sure is a journey and a fun one at that!  Thank you for your comment.

Jennifer, I think some look at AR as work and that's a shame.  I blogged before I found this site but love it here and can tell you do as well!  Thanks for your comment.

Cynthia, Thank you so much for your lovely words and I hope I find her as well.  What a wonderful place this site is with so many truly nice people!

James. Thank you so much for stopping in and commenting.  Another 100,000?  That if it happens is VERY far off!  I have been saying I need to get back to my articles and keep coming here, instead :)

Adam, Thank you, I loved Sedona so much.  The ride in and out of that place was breathtaking!  That's where I had my hot air balloon experience too :)

Trace, Thank you, I know, wasn't that a fortunate mistake?  If it had gone off as planned we never would have gotten her.  I just love these "accidents," don't you?

Candy, This woman was amazing.  While walking the Medicine Wheel she showed me where I kept getting "stuck" in life and it was very true.  And she showed the kids some valuable lessons they never forgot; she was an absolute treasure.

Grace, Thank you so much, I love your posts as well; they are heartfelt.  That one trip did certainly change the direction of my life.

Loretta, Thank you for all the support you've given me and your lovely comments, they are truly appreciated more than you know.

Carole- Congratulations on reaching 100,000 points! YEAH! ;). I am very touched by your post. Each person we meet is there in our life for a reason. Sometimes it may be a brief moment sometimes years. It is all a part of the dance. I am so happy that you found Feng Shui; as you seem like the exact type of person that would be good at Feng Shui. Carole, as a sister LongIslander, I would love to have any brochures or promotional material you may have.  I totally believe in the ability of feng shui to make a property far more appealing and saleable.

I don't know what area of the island you are in, but as President of the Long Island Commercial Network, I would love to see you attend one of our meetings (See www.LICommercialNetwork.org) which is made up of over 200 commercial agents and affiliates.  I am sure a lot of them could use your services.

In addition, I have a BNI group that meets every Thursday morning and if you are not already connected with a branch, we would be happy to have you be our guest for breakfast and look us over.  Although I am from Huntington, we meet in Westbury and come from all areas.

Gail, Thank you so much, I would love to attend either one.  I spoke for the Long Island Board of Realtors last November and they were very interested in Feng Shui.  You're welcome to email me or I would love to speak to you so please feel free to call me anytime.  By the way, you are in my favorite town, I am in Huntington often at your Book Revue or a restaurant.  Thank you so much and I look forward to speaking with you.

Dan, Thank you, it was actually FUN :)

Donna, I checked today to see if it was out in print....not yet.  But I certainly have high hopes for Deborah to find it, it's my Intention.  Then you'll see All Caps in my post headline :)!

Carole,

This will be my "angel story" of the day! My best friend and I often refer to the angels that guide us through our lives. You were where you were supposed to be to receive the blessing, thank goodness that you took the leap of faith to bring you around to where you are today. Pay it forward!!!

How funny is that?  I think I've changed my name 10 times or so, at least if you ask some of my old friends--my given name is Loretta, but my family always called me "Lorie"  which I never felt 'fit' right, (plus, I had two other close friends who were Lori and Laura), so in college I changed to my 'real' name, which has had any number of incarnations, most recently 'Lola'.  I should do the numbers on every nickname as well as the full one, and see which is best, right?  :-)

Diane, You absolutely should look into it, I can tell you honestly that it helps.  I don't know of any schools there but if you want an onsite practitioner I can try to find you one, let me know.  Or try a book...while they don't do what a consultation will, it's a good way to see if you're "in tune" with it and it's principles.

Loretta, YOU are too funny!  I would certainly check from my name a few different ways from that standpoint, many people believe in that---obviously my sister did!  I can imagine people calling you what they're used to, though!

Diane, I SO wish I had that picture, it was a perfect SQUARE in the clouds....I have never before seen anything like it and never since.  This woman was amazing, I am still waiting for the hardcover of the Magazine to hit the stores here. It's only six degrees, that's not very much....
