Hopkinton High was recently ranked highly for educational excellence by Boston magazine and Forbes.com, and has now been ranked the 2nd best high school in Massachusetts and 95th in the United States by Newsweek Magazine. Superintendent of Schools, John Phelan, is pleased with the ranking because Newsweek looked at a wide variety of criteria rather than just test scores and the number of students in advanced placement classes when they made their evaluation. This resulted in Hopkinton being ranked 392 last year and 95th this year. Phelan said, "This is a proud accomplishment for the staff, students and community."
