Barnegat native, Brigid Harrington, made her Broadway debut in Mary Poppins on Broadway, as Jane Banks on May 10.
Brigid Harrington is an 11 year old actress, singer and dancer who, at her young age, is enjoying a well-rounded career. Brigid's voice can be heard every day on the Disney Channel's hit animated series - Chuggington - as the lead female character Koko.
Brigid's voice can also be heard in the new line of Chuggington Interactive Toys. On Nickelodeon & Nick Jr., Brigid's speaking and singing voice has been heard on many bumpers for various shows and promotional segments. Brigid also voiced Chef Lidia Bastianich's granddaughter "Julia" in Lidia's animated PBS Christmas special Nonna Tell Me a Story: Lidia's Christmas Kitchen.
The play combines a diverting story and songs. Spoiled and bored upper crust Edwardian English family has their world turned upside down by an all nonsensical nanny who teaches them how to enjoy life. This movie is a musical and has both comedy and pathos and lots of imaginative scenes that are wonderful for adults and children alike. You'll be singing along in no time..."in the most delightful way!"
Mary Poppins (played famously by Julie Andrews in the film) is a kind of Super-nanny who flies in with her umbrella in response to the request of the Banks children and proceeds to put things right with the aid of her rather extraordinary magical powers before flying off again.
Mary Poppins on Broadway runs until mid-November.
