Facebook Pages - iwipa

By
Real Estate Agent with HER Realtors

Facebook in general confuses me. Facebook Pages confuse me more than my profile now....  but I am trying.

When Joseph Houghton asked in a Members Only post about Facebook Pages Charles Daily suggested a link

Charles recommended  iwipa.

Like

I have spent a lot of time on the iwipa page.  I like my Welcome Page... the problem is I don't think others see it as the front page of Discover Columbus,  I think they are seeing the Wall... which is OK. I guess.   The wall content is what is posted on my ActiveRain Outside blog, Discover Columbus Ohio....

I have tried to change the Welcome page to the default.

Found where to do that. Did it... Letitia Stevenson helped me with it.  Letitia said if some one has hit the Like they see the Wall.  If they have not hit Like they see the Welcome page.

If anyone has a Facebook page made with iwipa I would love to see it.  Give me a link please.

Facebook - Discover Columbus

Iwipa

I know a lot of people used Pagemodo to do Facebook pages... I was going to use Pagemodo but I never did.

I'd love to see examples of pages done with iwipa.  Do you use Pagemodo or Iwipa? Or something else?   Or did you hire someone like Mike Mueller to do your Facebook business page?

Share a link to your Facebook Business Page pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease if you used iwipa.

I am not asking you to Like my Columbus, Ohio real estate page.  There is nothing there that is not here... well I guess the iwipa stuff.

In totally unrelated news or not important to anyone but me, the Discover Columbus page on Facebook, which is related to Disco Columbus on Twitter was all automated.  For the most part what fed what is long forgotten but I know Twitter Feed was messed up.

I'm off to find out what iwipa is. Frankly, I haven't worried too much about my welcoms page. I use FB to psuh posts out to "already mets" or my online SOI.

Thanks, maybe I'll learn something.

Thanks, Rich.  Charles shared a page he made with iwipa or maybe he had it and made it better with iwipa.

I think I don't have my other tabs inside iwipa on DiscoverColumbus.  There is a whole series of videos about the iwipa app. I watched them.  I need to rewatch them.

I am using the free version of iwipa.

Easy to use, nice looking page, but my basic question still unanswered...Do people really go to Facebook looking to do business? Ida know, I think most people go there to goof off. I suppose maybe if I came across a new business somewhere else and saw they had a page I would check it out.

I'm with you, Rich. I don't think folks necessarily come to FB to do business.  I think it is definitely a way to continue relationships and stay in the loop of what's going on.  For example, I posted one day that I was going to the Hilliard Chamber's Women in Business luncheon and I saw a couple of peeps there that said they came because they saw the post & wouldn't have known about it otherwise.

On another note, a key advantage to the apps that allow you to build your FB fan pages, I think it's impportant to give peeps on FB a way to connect with you on your website so an opt in is great to have on your FB page.  FB owns all your content and can decide in the future to shut it down, charge or whatever suits Mark's fancy.  Best to drive as much traffic as possible back to your site & your list since you are expending the energy to build the relationships.

Rich How do you explain then hugely successful Facebook business pages? Not that I am going to be Victoria's Secret or the other big brands who are very successful in using Facebook.

Yes they pay big bucks for those pages it's not just iwipa or Pagemodo.

Have you seen the Hitler Rant video about Facebook and Google +1?   Susie Blackmon has it on her Posterous.  I love it. I think Hitler is ranting about a Facebook group not a Facebook page though... One of the funniest (and raciest) Hitler rants I have seen and I have probably seen most of them.  Racy in more ways than just dropping the f bomb over and over and over.

Andrew I have never heard of India Pale Beer... of course I don't drink beer so that may be why.  I will have to Google it.  I love Indian food but can not conceive of Indian beer.   I used to love Chinese beer though...  Tzen ?  pronounced something like "Chin Dow"  ??? Great with Hunan and Szechuan food.  I don't eat those either anymore.  ;-  (

Wikipedia says "It was first brewed in England in the 19th century."  in the style of an Indian beer?  Does beer exist in every culture?

Iwipa is like Pagemodo.

Teresa I have to agree with that but this is a business page NOT my profile, I don't talk real estate a lot on my FB profile.  The content on the page is just content that is on a blog which depending on who you listen to I own (ActiveRain tells me I own it) Or others tell me I don't own it, ActiveRain does.  I am not sure I would pay for the iwipa upgrade or a page designed by Mike Mueller (or other Facebook designers.)

If FB took the page or archived the page. (or is that what they are doing to groups?) it would not be a big loss, I still have the content on Discover Columbus Ohio.

That blog and all my blogs get a perentage of business from Facebook.  Not a huge amount, except my WP blog (not a real estate blog but it has RE) gets a healthy dose of traffic from Facebook.

There are hugely successful business pages on Facebook. There are hugley successful real estate pages on Facebook.   I will probably never have one but that does not mean that making my page look better is not a good idea.

I'll have to check out the rant, sounds like it could be worth a good laugh.

I don't know how to explain the big brand FB pages. They are branding on such a huge level and they already have brand awareness. I live in a small market and I haven't seen anyone in town doing anything valuable with their FB pages.

The tool looks great.

Ha ha Andrew, it's a little early for a beer, don't ya think?

Rich If I was creating content on Facebook that would concern me. Since  I have the content to me it is just syndication and it brings a small percentage of traffic to my site (blog.)  I do need to figure out what broke in my feed and get it feeding automatically again.

The page that takes the most work for me is my "365 things to do in Columbus Ohio " page but it's been Liked by way more people.  I am no Dale Chumbley but it  brings a lot of traffic to my WordPress blog.

I saw an AR featured post this past week about using your AR blog to get traffic to your Facebook page...  that is backassward to me but what do I know?   I want the traffic on my blogs.

Laughing at the anti semitism in the Hitler rant made me a little uncomfortable but he's Hitler.

Hello Maureen, I don't know anything about iwipa. I have several fan pages that Jo Barnes on Facebook helped me with. You can search for Living the Shasta Lifestyle on Facebook. We used FTML and now have to convert to the iframe by the end of the year. Jo...provides you the Facebook Fan Page stuff for free and then offers you multiple opportunities to buy something from her. She still offers the "Free Fan Page" stuff for free. The new graphics are more refined and I will like the new pages better. We just have not had the time to convert yet. There is a setting in FB that allow you to stiipulate that your welcome page is your landing page. Again...she teaches you all of this (multiple videos and a code generator). It was so helpful and I am pleased with the result. Hope this will gives you some ideas. Hope you are well. Nice to visit!

I am not sure that I even have a welcome page.  I think my wall is my landing page.  Obviously I need to look into this more.  Thanks for making me think about it.

Jeanean I found your page.  "There is a setting in FB that allow you to stiipulate that your welcome page is your landing page."  I'd found that before I wrote this or as I was writing this but it did not seem to work at first.  Then it worked, thats why that concern was crossed out.  I think Letitia helped me with that.

Pam My pages do not have Welcome pages...  I am so bad at FB.

Mara I have a future project I feel like I need to do for someone else with Facebook.  I really am bad at Facebook.

Maureen - this has created a lot of new questions for me. I'll have to check out my page to see how I can make it better. A lot of people us it but, I haven't spent much time with it.

Above was #14.   I used the report a concern button and AR removed it.

Thanks for stopping by Carla.  I need to get back to iwipa and get it working or scrap it.

The   Social Media Consulant for Realtors can be assured I would not hire her if I decided to use someone to make my pages look prettier.

I use the Iwipa program for a lot of fan pages I build if you want to see examples of what you really can do with it go to http://on.fb.me/MSQRD2

I also saw a comment on here about someone worried there fans are going to the wall on thier page this is true if they have already liked your page you can use the first page to create a landing page a fan likes it and then next time they come to your wall same with the admin if you liked it your going to the wall as well. Also you must set your default to welcome if you have more than one welcome be sure which one it is.

I do all this for my customers. Sometimes I think all these changes are bad, but at the end it does allow me to charge businesses for something that is constantly changing. Thanks for some of the updates...
