In the Sunday Seattle Times Pacific Magazine, Tom Reese wrote an interesting article,  "Bay Watch" about the wetlands in Montlake which are also bordered by Madison Park, and the University of Washington. 

When I had finished up at my Montlake open house for the day, I decided to relax by taking a walk around the Montlake Waterfront Park  and take some photos.  The late afternoon was beginning to cloud up after being a sunny Autumn day but there were still people out kayaking and walking the trails.

It is amazing to have such a wonderful natural area in the midst of such an urban setting.  I especially love the contrast of the 520 freeway overpass system sweeping over the water filled with lillypads and the occasional kayaker or canoeist.  A really cool fact is that there is a beaver lodge in middle of it all that is visible from the freeway, and there is also a pair of Bald Eagles who nest nearby.  It is these bits of wildness that always delights me.

One more reason I am glad I moved to Seattle, and enjoy helping others, as a Seattle real estate agent, find a home when moving to Seattle!
