6 Comments on The Home of the Future. What will it look like?
Great research. Glad you got a chance to sit in with leading experts! I am curious to see what our children's retirement requests will be.
Very good post - now to find a lot big enough to hold that footprint!
Sounds like the home I want to live in now, much less when fully retired. Which I intend to be soon.
Dave and Bonnie - If your kids are like mine, their retirement requests will include multiple game systems!
Brett - I am working with several High Performance Green builders who already have lots lined up or are more than happy to builde on the client's lot.
Mike - They are available. You just need to be very selective with who you choose as a builder. Also remember that there are different shades of green. Energy Star certs aren't much better than the current code in most cities. The higher level certifications are much more energy efficient.
Mark~
you know I had to smile as I read, " "Green certifications like Earth Advantage Platinum assure a very energy efficient home that is durable and offers saving on energy bills of over 50%. This protects the owner against future raises in energy costs."...and so I'm "Suggesting" this post! and hoping you include it at the ECO-All-Stars Group so that I can Feature it =)
I work with a lot of baby boomers and I would agree that they are looking for one level homes, energy efficient and no skimping on the upgrades! Great post.
