Costa Mesa Animal Control, in partnership with the Orange County Humane Society (OCHS), will be conducting two Dog Licensing Clinics. The clinics will be on Friday, July 8th (4 p.m. to 8 p.m.) and Saturday, July 9th (10 a.m. to 2 p.m.) in the greenbelt area between the Police Department (99 Fair Drive) and City Hall.
The purpose of the clinics is to promote dog licensing and provide the community with a convenient opportunity to license their dogs. The licensing of dogs is important because:
If a dog is found, the license indicates the dog has an owner and isn't a stray.
In the event a dog is found and/or injured, the license can be used to notifying the owner.
Rabies can be a fatal disease. Licensed dogs are required to be vaccinated to fight the disease.
There are responsibilities that come with dog ownership, which include complying with local dog licensing laws.
Costa Mesa dog owners are encouraged to attend the "one stop shop" clinics. The benefits of attending are:
License fees will be waived for Costa Mesa residents registering their dog(s) for the first time.
All dog licensing late fees will be waived.
OCHS will be providing rabies vaccinations for only $8.00.
OCHS will provide microchip services for the reduced cost of $2
* To license your dog, please bring proof of neutering or spaying and proof of a valid rabies vaccination (if not having dog vaccinated at clinic); All dogs must be on a leash and no appointment is necessary; Cash and/or checks will only be accepted.*
